How happy was CP3 having Harden hang out half court? I watched last years team and Harden was just the safety valve at half court, not a real threat as the defense sagged him off him towards the 3 pt line. I'm not going to disregard WB's OKC years and say only a shell of that player exists anymore. It was a terrible fit that didn't have the luxury of time, especially not during a shortened covid season or when WB had a soft tissue injury at the end of the normal regular season. It's ironic we sign a young, offensively skilled big man right before we traded WB. I kinda feel the same with Harden, just change "neutralize" to "set your watch predictable".
Counting on 3 players coming off Achilles injuries..... Cant deny the upside.... but that downside though....
But the problem was it was still the Harden system. If 4 people are standing at the 3 point line, then Harden is absolutely better being the person with the ball than Westbrook - like you said, WB can't shoot and defenses give him cushion and try to get him to do something stupid, which he often will. Westbrook is much better when other people are moving around, keeping defenders moving - then he can dribble around and dish to cutting players or use his lightning speed to find lanes to the basket. Harden deferring to Westbrook was Harden standing in one place while Westbrook had the ball - he needed to move around and make the defense focus on him to free up Westbrook to do what he's good at. Westbrook is not a pure offense-in-motion guy like Chris Paul, but he's also not a everyone-stand-around guy like Harden. He needs some kind of off-ball movement to maximize his strengths (which is largely speed/athleticism which thrives in defenders being out of place).
Dude. Everybody said that's why capela was traded from Morey to the coaching staff, why do you think you can wave that away? Why would I consider that about Harden and role players when I was refuting what the poster said about WB and CP3?
As I posted elsewhere..... Career TOV% Harden- 15.2% WB- 15.7% Wall- 17.3% Career AST% Harden- 32.2% WB- 42.3% Wall- 42.4% TS% Harden- 61% WB- 53% Wall- 52%
Jame Harden didnt make Cp3 shoot like Crap from the field Vs the Warriors. He did not provide the production he was able to last year. Cp3 had no problem with it being that way the year before when he was playing like himself. Westbrook injured or not, small ball or not was ALWAYS worse when he was on the floor with us, always. And he's ALWAYS been inefficient in the playoffs, always. We did a lot for HIS game. He got more touches and usage here. He was trash most of the time. James Harden just needs someone who's an actual all star. Dude cant make these guys not play well.
To be fair that's Westbrook playing along side far signficant more talent in prime KD and Harden. You would expect slightly more efficiency next to guys with so much gravity. Wall has had Beal for a couple of seasons and that's about it.
That's not true either, I posted the link about how it went down and the shooter was not drunk, it seems he was offended that Nippsy said the word on the street that he was a snitch and it was not said as a threat but trying to warn him.
So you are saying the Capela trade didn't serve multiple purposes? Capela was tossed into trade packages under CP3 too..... Uh... wasn't Harden on those CP3 and WB teams?
The dude can post you those stats but fails to tell you that his declining athleticism does not allow him to be that kind of play maker anymore. He also fails to show you that Westbrook has always been bad in the playoffs. Also fails to note his defense is trash. Bad arguments all around dont waste your time.
What points exactly are incorrect? These are merely excuses. Was CP3 frustrated with Harden's stationeriness? Yes. So that isn't fake news. Is Harden predictable in a 7 game series? Yes.
Those are incorrect points because he's attributing their poor play to James Harden not doing enough. Cp3 can be frustrated when he backs it up on the court, which he did not do. Harden has been very efficient these last three playoffs.
No defensive player has ever sagged off Harden. So what about when Harden was doubled? It's amazing how much traction the Haters try to get from the Harden hanging out at half court trope. Are you really trying to compare WB as a playoff player to Harden? Thats why you'r that guy. Why don't you run the numbers?
Well sure, but no matter how you slice it my point remains the same in the context of the claims being made about WB's playmaking abilities.
I wish I could find a better video but I don't care to search too much. Ignore the people speaking and just look the basketball being played....look where Harden is and where the defender is.....to edit: this is the ****ing playoffs.
So now its percentages? Wall has 1 more asst per game avg than WB and he averages less TO's. Stop making **** up.
