The CP3 trade was a disaster, but it's done and shouldn't factor into judging anything else, which everybody seems to be doing.

We added a pick in this trade, and may have gotten a player who will help us more than Westbrook. This isn't doubling down, it's the opposite. We pulled the rip cord on something that wasn't working instead of throwing good money onto bad.

me either. going back and looking at so many of the comments are even more hilarious now. And it's the same cf's posters that are consistently on the wrong side of things that held the strongest takes that this was the greatest thing in the world.

one of the absolute worst trades in history

This is throwing bad money onto worse. Over the past three seasons John Wall has averaged 24 games played.

Next year Tilman is trading Wall for Hayward. Gotta have that worse contract in the league.

    Both teams ditched Russ.

    Therefore both teams won.

I thought that chicken tasted funny. That must have been it.

Seriously though you don't think cp3 benefitted from being able to rest for a good chunk of the season? And do you disagree that he will not be as good next year? Will he be an all star? All nba?

Point being is that the Rockets could, should, and would have gotten a better deal for CP3 if they had more patience.

He played every single game even before the pause. That didn’t matter. Of course he’s still going to be good next year. What’s stopping him

Honestly, at this point, this doesn't even matter.

We sold low on CP and got a terrible deal. We then turned around and sold low again on Russ and got an even worse deal.

Age, wear and tear of continous play and more games.

All that applied to this past season. Plenty of us knew his game ages just fine. It’s going to be no different this year. It’s the ones who were horribly wrong about westbrick that don’t know any better

Wasn't really a low sell. CP3 was a max player who was aging and already had a huge history of injury. Nobody expected him to have the kind of season like he did last. Sometimes things happen.

He just had one of the worst shooting year of his career. That was a statistical anomaly. Our beat writer Salman Ali was even writing stuff about this too. He was always gonna age very VERY well. His next season wasnt even THAT much better than this season. Morey also knew which is why he didnt want to do this trash trade in the first place. This trade was garbage, it was trash before and it was trash afterwards.

None of it matters. All of these erratic's trades would be devastating to a typical organization. For Tilmans Rockets, its childs play. The guys is churning superstars every year. CP3, Morey, Westbrook, ... next year James Harden. He has no more superstars committed. Nobody competitive wants to play for these type of owners.

Come on man he missed 14 games each 2 years before that and 11 games his last year with clippers. He hadn't played a full season since 2014. He couldn't get past joe Ingles in the playoffs his last year here. We will see how well he plays this year if we have a full season but don't you think its atleast alittle coincidental that his best year came when he was allowed to take like a month off alittle after half way into the season and didn't have to play a full season.
