I like Wall always have over Russ but I do know Russ is the better player. at the end of the day it’ll be fun to watch something different. I saw this trade coming once we got cousins tbh. harden is close with wall and so is cousins so it makes since.
I'm not gonna rehash the disaster of the Westbrook trade. I knew it was a catastrophe at the time, but it's done and we have to deal with the situation as is. It's clear that Westbrook didn't want to be here. We were absolutely not gonna get productivity out of him, he might have been actively hazardous to the locker room given the strength of his personality. I think any sliver of a chance of getting Harden back on board meant removing him. Wall is obviously a huge risk given his injuries. But if (big if) he can return to form I think he's a better fit next to Harden, and he is at least a competent 3pt shooter so we don't have to obliterate our entire offensive structure to make it work. Our floor is much lower now, but I think our ceiling is higher than it would be with hard headed Westbrook. I'm not gonna lie and say I love the trade, but I've always hated Westbrooks game, and simply don't think there's any chance we regret dumping him. Nobody else wanted him despite how great a statistical regular season he had last year, teams know exactly what he is. So we had to settle for swapping bad contracts. At least we didn't give up 100 picks to do it this time.
You want to get rid of Westbrook....fine. For John freaking Wall...a guy who can NOT stay healthy??? As for comparing the two of them seems pretty ridiculous when one of them is always hurt. '17-'18 missed 41 games/half the season '18-'19 missed 50 games '19-'20 missed the entire season with a ruptured Achilles tendon. All the concerns with CP being able to stay healthy and now this??
Lol. truth. At least we didn't mortgage the farm to get Wall. Now we can Do the John Wall like Troop 41 says. .
We weren't unloading WB for anyone good lol. It's not like we're getting a prime Steve Nash in return. We're trading damaged goods for slightly less damaged goods.
Who said anything about getting "anyone good"?? How about for someone who can at least suit up instead of riding the bench in a suit because he's hurt ALL THE TIME!!
Outside of being on the court, what makes Westbrook a better player at this stage for this team? This isn’t a rhetorical question by the way. Does he shoot better? Is he a better defender? Better IQ? Better Playmaker? Better ball handling? When he had his streak of good games and picked his spots before COVID Russ was amazing. But him basically acknowledging that that’s not how he wants to play is huge.
Do player salaries get voided when they refuse to play? How does it compare to the NFL. Are there fines, etc?
Wouldn't it be funny if he got fined while being shipped to DC? Nah, they are letting him off the hook. He knew he was going to go.
Just realized Scott Brooks is the head coach in DC. Russ punked him in okc, forced triple doubles coming back lol
Stop it, man. The Lakers took away the three ball and kicked our asses. We were taking 30 of them a game, not anywhere near our goal of 50 plus.
