Barf. Another heavily-protected first-round pick. I guess Westbrook forced the Rockets hand by not reporting to camp on time, but this deal is a massive risk. There are only a handful of players in the NBA with a worse contract than Westbrook, and John Wall is one of them. Also, don’t forget that John Wall dealt with alcoholism with the Wizards and often came to games or practice with bloodshot eyes.
Trading CP3 and all those picks/swaps for Russ was terrible and inexcusable. This trade isn't. I'm fine giving this time to see how it plays out.
Wall is a better fit. Period We know WB is not a good fit. Let’s get it. If Clutchfans is mad, it’ll probably turn out okay
Peobably will be a 2021 18-19 pick. Wizards are better than Detroit, Orlando, Charlotte and probably better also than Indiana and Toronto.
This is a trade we won't really be able to gauge till 2 months in. No sense in overreacting over a player who hasn't played in two years. If he comes back healthy with this "improved" shot, I'm for it. We've gotten rid of some of the toxicity of the locker room I'd add...
PRE-injury John Wall was worse than Westbrook last year, and now he's 30 years old, coming off an achilles injury, while not playing for 2 years, playing in a party city......
Ive got to think there was more driving this to happen than just Russ's displeasure. While I am glad Russ is gone, this wasn't a great trade. It might become a decent trade if Wall is 100% and healthy. Could it be that another trade was being held up until this could get done? Edit: OK, he wasn't going to show up for camp or play. Yep, that will make the gears grind.
"" I think Westbrook not reporting to Houston probaly was the trigger for the trade. And John Wall is a former Wilcat teammate to Boogie.
Rumor has it Russ never reported to camp. If that's accurate, it's no surprise that Stone gave the Wizards a call today.
