Ted Cruz, I think you need to reword this statement. How about, after the President of the United States knew how serious Covid-19 was, he refused to let Americans know the seriousness of the virus. In May, until now, the President and GOP willingly put Americans at risk by downplaying the pandemic, touting reopening, taking a no mask stance, and leading the charge to reopen, regardless of the risk. Even as numbers climb, deaths climb, and Covid spreads, they minimize the deaths as small percentages, put all the blame on China, and take no responsibility for their throwing in the towel and pushing herd immunity.

Tell it like it is Ted. The GOP should take sole responsibility for what has happened since those first 13 cases were detected.

There has never been a more reprehensible president of the United States...

There is literally a madman living in the White House. A creature devoid of any empathy for the American people he is supposed to lead. trump cares only for himself, and his deluded followers believe every lie that comes out of his mouth.

Trump and the GOP caused this. We have the worst leaders imaginable when it comes to actually caring about saving lives.

if trump had shown some compassion and leadership he could have used the virus to galvanize support.it should have been an easy victory. the blaming china aspect was never really pushed..rude perhaps but a missed opportunity for trump.

this virus will define trump and time will show more and more how he really blew it

Yep...a combination of empathy and an attempt to lead along with the fast tracked vaccine availability would have led to a landslide victory.

Even if he had done even twice as much to stop the spread, which still would have been half ass, he would still be a lying, cheating con man, who uses name calling and lies like some teenage juvenile delinquent. Even if he would have done more, he has shown the last 4 years that his end game was making money off the position. The weekend golf trips at all his properties for 4 years speaks for itself. It was all a big Grift. It's no wonder he had his whole family involved in the con game. He groomed them for this from a young age.

I beg to differ. He should have been impeached. His dirty business started before the pandemic. A lot of people saw what a lying cheating jerk he was before the pandemic.

Yet, even with all that as well as his pathetic COVID response he still came within a statistical whisker of winning.

Sick really. I imagine all those die hard Republicans don't care who they vote for, but I still think the Democrats would have prevailed. 6 million votes is huge. I was against Trump long before the pandemic and I would never have voted for him again. No way! This was the first year I ever voted Democrat. I will never vote Republican again. Never. As if the Impeachment trials wasn't enough BS, they have all shown through this pandemic they only care about money and power, not people.

It wasn't the entirety of the 6 million. It is the states he's trying to flip via his frivolous lawsuits.

Also him stupidly railing against absentee voting hurt him.

It will be hard for any Republican to win the popular vote as long as California and NY remain solidly blue. Those 2 states gave Biden a 6.8 million vote cushion.

It's true. He wouldn't have deserved to be reelected, based on the terrible job he has done while in office aside from his enormous failure with the pandemic, but I also think he would have been. I suspect that Mary Trump, his niece and a psychologist, would say that the way he's acted since the beginning of the year was the only way he could act. That he is incapable of empathy, incapable of accepting responsibility for others. That he cares only for himself, and likely his children. That's it. That he is a compulsive liar who will say anything, do anything except admit failure.

It's who he is. We're unlucky to have him in the position he's in, a man doing the worst possible job "caring" for the country during this terrible time. However, as bad as trump is, even worse, in my opinion, are his enablers in Congress. The men and women of the Republican Party that not only allowed him to act as he has acted, but have encouraged it, still encourage it. They are worse, because most know very well what they are doing, know the pain, suffering, and death . . . the chaos we are seeing now that they could have prevented, yet are hand in glove with a psychopath in his journey to ruination, busy taking so many of us with them. All in their quest for power. It's madness.

Good! The GOP is not a party of the people. They have spoiled their image for years to come. They are all heartless pathetic human beings, and not one of them ever deserves a chance at winning an election in the future. They are the death cult.

Exactly! He is a raging psychopath, and they stood by him through all his madness. They are all birds of a feather by sticking together. Texas is so screwed with Paxton, Cruz, and Abbott. They are 3 amigos of the death cult.

If covid hadn't happened or Trump had even shown a little bit of interest in trying to contain it.

I think he wins the election.
Covid to those who experienced it was devastating to their communities.

Rural America is only seeing it now . But those in cities understood how hard it was to socially distance in their normal life.
