A great image. I saw Star Wars the morning it came out. The trailer was thrilling as it could only be to an ardent science fiction fan who had seen every film in the genre that he knew of, so I was determined to see it the first day. David Prowse first made his commanding presence known in this scene: That came during the movie. You don't see a lot of him in the trailer (restored original trailer below). Just enough to wonder, "Who the hell is that?" You see this thing in black fling a guy against a wall like a rag doll. Shortly after, you hear these words. "The story of a boy, a girl, and the universe." Right after those words I saw this giant needle (I hate needles!) coming towards a great looking girl that had looked familiar when she said, "They're coming in too fast!" and then Darth Vader turns his head and looks right at you. There was that scary, commanding presence again, if only for a moment. The girl was the teenage chick from Shampoo, I realized later. There's a couple of seconds of the same giant trading blows with the instantly recognizable Alec Guinness using some sort of glowing sword. Except for Mr. Prowse's back for a moment walking near a spaceship (which you figure out later is the Millennium Falcon), that's it, but Prowse makes him unforgettable. Rest in Peace.
