https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2020/11/rockets-to-add-brodric-thomas-via-exhibit-10-contract.html Exhibit 10 contract only. 6'5 bouncy athlete. Still would like Shaq Harrison.
You understand this is likely an Exhibit 10 deal that is just to obtain his rights for the Vipers, right? This is not the type of deal you give to guys like Tyler Johnson or Shaq Harrison.
Yes. Saying I would like Shaq in addition to this signing. I know Rockets can bring up to 20 players to training camp and a handful are signed to preserve them for the Vipers.
Justin Anderson off the table. Morey just signed him to the 76ers. Philly has a very nice vet bench. https://www.nbcsports.com/philadelp...ct-nba-training-camp-sixers-roster-isaiah-joe
Does anyone think Reggie Jackson could be had for vet min?? He's got amazing length at 6'3" with 7 foot wingspan. He's shot above 37% from 3 point range past 2 seasons. Seems like the most talented guard available. Would allow us to move Gordon if needed. He plays with fire. Maybe he'd take the Cousins approach and roll with us to contend? I imagine he could get more $ with non contender. Played with Harden his rookie year & backed up Russ for 2 more before getting traded. Thoughts? https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/j/jacksre01.html
I remember this. They're skill set then was similar. But Reggie got moved. Landed big payday. Got waived & joined LAC last year for min. He couldn't shoot threes reliably early in his career but seems beyond adequate now.... Tyler Johnson just signed with Brooklyn. Reggie is best available for combo PG that can score category. Rest of PGs out there are just satisfactory relief for Westy/Harden/EGO
In addition to bad blood between Reggie and Russ, Reggie is Jekyl and Hyde on defense. Detroit Reggie was a defensive sieve. LAC Reggie was sometimes a very good defender. A player with Reggie's athleticism and wingspan (7'0) should a much better defender. But his focus and effort are all over the place. Prefer Shaq Harrison if going to sign another PG. He is younger, just as athletic and long and plays near elite defense with consistancy.
What is he like on offense? Can he handle the ball and distribute? Looks like he dramatically improved his 3pt shooting last season.
Reggie Jackson is a very dumb player. I prefer to keep him away from the Rockets. His negatives outweighs the positives.
Nic Batum likely to be waived. https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/260631/Hornets-To-Waive-Nic-Batum EDIT: Batum waived. https://www.nba.com/hornets/hornets-waive-forward-nicolas-batum
He is a very good offensive player and he played well for the Clips (not efficient with Pistons) in regular season. However he became unplayable in postseason because he was a huge defensive liability especially next to Lou.
