Last year, Texas was up around 11 or 12 mid-season. Two years ago, Texas had beaten Oklahoma and was ranked #6 after 7 games. Neither time did it signal turning the corner.

And it's just as stupid now as claiming Texas did it the last two years. Turning the corner requires more than one upset win in the middle of a season. Right now, A&M looks the same as they have the last many years. A decent team that's not in the same league as the big boys. Same as Texas.
