Lou Dort is 6'4 but built like a Football Player. Can defend anyone on the Floor.

Height doesn't matter.,if you are Smart on Defense, with Body Builder Body like Lou Dort.

Rockets need to find more Defensive Players. At the Guard and Small Forward positions.

If he can defend backup PG’s and SG’s, then that’s fine. Otherwise, he will be pretty much useless.

Jae'Sean Tate is a younger more athletic P.J. Tucker that can create his own shot, rebound, DEFEND 1-5 and has shown great touch inside and out ((3'sss Please))... 6'4'' 235 lbs. solid!

Oh well, he is on the roster, might as well make the most of him?

Let's be positive, he is a skilled player who likes to defend. Very good defender. Offensively he is also skilled, just short - but a different kind of short to PJ Tucker, because Tate is quite athletic.

There is a write up on him from his college days.

6'8 wingspan - so not particularly long either. Next to a long rangy guy like Woods he brings nuggety toughness. Can play either forward spot if his outside shot is falling - basically his shooting will determine how far he can go, he can do everything else.

I'm liking the youth and bottom half of the rotation. Hopefully it turns out a contributor or two.

6'4 Tate is like a shorter (6'8 vs. 7'0 wingspan) 6'6 Justin Anderson IMO.

I've watched hundreds of highlight reels of players over the years and not been overly impressed even with guys who are highly prized. This Tate guy is special, like James Harden lite kinda special. I think if Harden were to stick around, he might be impressed by Tate and take him under his arm an do some mentoring. The strength and finishing skills at the rim of that guy are very impressive.

Smaller Julius Randle. Jae'Sean Plays like Ron Artest. Can dribble, attack the basket, Rebound, Toughness is needed off the bench. Hopefully make a Impact like Carl Landry off the Bench.

Jae’Sean Tate season in Australia shows that he's much more than a defender. He has that Swiss-Army knife/point forward game in a 6'4 body. He's added catch and shoot ability (from the European 3-point line) and has a nice handle. Lots of lob highlights in there too, though that might not translate when he faces more above the rim defenders. I think the tight spin move that you can see in the highlights will help him finish in traffic. So I'm interested to see how he fits in and if he can earn playing time. Having his recent Aussie coach (Will Weaver) on the sidelines might help.

It probably will come down to if he has the quickness to stay in front of NBA guards/forwards without reaching.

I am always amazed at the number of NBA GMs and NBA scouting experts that actually take time out of their busy schedules to come to ClutchFans and post their opinions about Rocket player signings.

I wouldn’t count on Tate guarding point guards or even some shooting guards straight up. What he can do is switch on a lot of positions, guard bigger shooting guards and both forward spots.

Nwaba can guard extremely well at the 1-3 and even 4’s on a switch.
