A Russ trade that brings back Buddy Hield would be an absolutely insane return... How I wish it would happen. Going from the NBA's worst shooter to one of the greatest three point shooters of all time.
So far, I got one part of my prediction correct. Felt like the deal would be done today. Expansion was attempted per @Nook but they clearly couldn't find a proper expansion. Hield clarity will come later. I'd say 50/50 he's a King, but I'd be shocked if it was here. I hope we get those extensions today. @TheSource

Good Ole BS stoking that BS. Bill Simmons: I thought Westbrook was going to Washington. And I had heard that Bradley Beal was driving the Westbrook thing and that they were actually going to include a pick potentially and it wasn’t just a one-for-one that they were actually putting in more. – via Bill Simmons @ The Ringer
Not sure what part of that is BS, since he's just stating what he thought would happen. I haven't listened so if you have, does he make it sound like a WAS deal is dead?
Houston In: Aaron Gordon, Derrick Rose Orlando In: Westbrook Detroit In: Fultz, Pick This clears $10-15 million off our books, opening up the potential use of the full MLE (about $8 million left after Tate). Then, let’s assume Otto Porter agrees to a buyout, and we give him the full $8 million to help him recoup what he gave up in the buyout. Gordon / Rose Harden / McLemore or Brown Porter / House / Nwaba Gordon / Tucker Wood / Cousins *Harden might sign an extension if we get this done. **Rose, McLemore, Brown, Nwaba, Porter, Tucker and Cousins would all be on expiring deals, which would give us tremendous flexibility in the offseason. We could SnT them to other teams, resign them, be a player in the max free agent market...lots of options. ***Theres a chance we could duck the tax, which would make Tillman happy, and more willing to go the extra mile in a SnT deal for PG13 next summer.
Also, we would have the ABILITY (not saying we SHOULD sign them to these numbers) to resign our free agents to the following: Rose: 4 year deal starting at $13.5 million per year McLemore: 4 year deal starting at $9 million per year Brown: 2 year deal starting at $2.5 million per year Nwaba: 4 year deal starting at $9 million per year Porter: 2 year deal starting at $9.5 million per year Tucker: Max Contract (full bird rights) Cousins: 2 year deal starting at $3 million per year Basically, we would have tremendous flexibility to bring back several guys if we chose to.
Regarding Bruno, I wonder what we do here. his entire value is in his length and feet. He has rare mobility and an even more rare wingspan. He also looks like a guy that still hasn’t quite put everything together. The form on his shot looks good, but it doesn’t quite go in enough. Some bonehead passes where he’s not paying attention. everyone has said that he’s 2 years from being 2 years away, but he HAS shown improvement. In that way, he’s like Christian Wood. If he ever pieces everything together, he will be a good role player. his major need is playing time. Can we give that to him? What I’d hate to see is us invest in him, he develops and then bails after one year. I wonder if a partially guaranteed 2-year deal would work for both sides.
You sign him to a 3 year deal with only the first guaranteed. You hope he pans out and you flourish with him and Wood if he does. Way too much upside to let him walk again, especially after using a second rounder on him. he had a great run in the 18-19 season but just didn’t get minutes the next year. He never really got a fair shot here and I think he’s a two week run away from being a guy that everyone wants. Lucas likes him and Silas is the development king. He has a great shot of developing here if he ever actually takes that step.
Simmons claims Beal was pushing for it but the week before he was saying Russ would be traded elsewhere in Eastern conference. He is just throw stuff out there and seeing what sticks. It is also good click bait. Everything I am reading is past tense so no idea if the WA deal is dead or just floating.
That’s what I see as well. The IF. He’s one of those guys that it will probably just click for one day and boom, he’s a rotation player. Also, he’s definitely a wing...not a big. He’s built like a wing and moves like one too. Banging around inside is not his thing, on either end of the court.
