Wood is an Anthony Davis light
boogie very similar to Mark Gasol
PJ Tucker one of the best one on one defenders on Lebron
No one on lakers can defend Harden or Russ as long as Silas builds the right game plan. The only thing that separates us is our benches. We got nothing on Montrez, Kuzma, Schroeder. But if we get Green and get some production from one of the rookies or Nwaba or Brown. This will be fun. Still need another guard off the bench imo. Maybe Mason will be the direct backup to Russ? Seems like he’s already got the respect of harden

He's building a team where PJ Tucker doesn't have to play center.

So you think we beat the lakers(who crushed us in 5) by
    1. trading Covington for Woods
    2. signing someone that the Lakers waived(Cousins) last season??

Also dont count out the importance of team chemistry and morale. When your 2 best players dont wanna be here, it affects the whole team. I'll be pretty shocked if the Rockets end up winning more than 40 games next season.

    Amen to that.

We'll EASILY eclipse 40. They should be in the 45 - 50 range if healthy ..no problem.
Maybe even more depending on moves/additions.

He needs to have resources to stop the refs first.

Whatever you say Debbie Downer. I don’t give a rat’s arse who the Lakers waived....Cousins is a beast and will dominate as he did just a few years ago. By the way.....Rockets waived Hassan Whiteside, your boy Covington, Jeremy Lin, Shaun Livingston, etc.

I like the moves so far, but let’s not get carried away.

hes traded one good rotation player for another good rotation player...nothing more.

If he can get a younger two way guy for Gordon, his grade goes waaay up.

Nobody on the Lakers can guard Russ?

Nobody on the Lakers needs to. Just stand off him and let him hoist up 3s

If he is building a team to beat the Lakers, then Russ needs to be gone, and Harden staying. Huge question marks on both those items....

To be fair, Lakers waived Cousins because wasn't going to available for Playoffs run. Waiving him opened a roster spot for Markieff Morris - who absolutely destroyed the Rockets in games 2 and 5. For the playoffs, he averaged just under 10ppg on 44% shooting and 39% from 3.

Hopefully he's just building a team that'll win it all. Not just beat the Lakers!

    1) was boogie healthy last year?
    2) different year, lebron doesn't get a break in the middle of the season as a 36 year old, davis has to stay healthy for a full season
    3) westbrook hopefully isn't coming off a covid positive and quad injury.

Well Morey was obsessed building our team to beat The Warriors and look where that got us. It’s funny how the NBA changes in just a few years as we may never see those same Warriors again.

40 games? You’re on drugs unless you think Harden is definitely getting traded.

    1. Is he healthy this year? Can you even be "healthy" when you're a 6'10 giant coming off major consecutive leg injuries?
    2. Why do you act like the Lakers were the only team to get a break?
    3. Covid didn't make Westbrick shoot 25% from 3 last year. The man can't shoot and nobody bothered to defend him in the playoffs.

Stone is just building a good team while keeping an eye out for the future.

Stone isnt building a team specifically to beat the Lakers cuz he is getting rookies with potential and taking a flyer on Cousins. If you looked at Rox when Morey was trying to beat GSW Morey always got vets and cut the players who are too raw to contribute immediately, this is why we lost guys like Covington and Wood and had to pay assets for them later on. With the money Rox paid Wood they could have had Ibaka who would have done more in the short term than Wood and splurged for Aaron Baynes as backup C. Instead they went for guys like 25 yr old Wood and a bunch of rookies.

I like it, win at all costs mentality is too dumb for a team that hasnt even reached the Finals. We dont know what will happen with Harden and Russ so beating out the war drum on the Lakers is extremely idiotic at this point. Plus, Lebron is the greatest front runner/anti clutch player of all time if his team is the favored one there is almost no chance of beating him (basically only Dirk's Mavs team did it his entire career).
