The only reason Cousins isn't a top tier free agent is because of his injuries in recent years coupled with his age. I wish we had signed him four years ago but what are you going to do? I am pleasantly surprised. His upside is very high and we didn't give up anything really. Great pickup if he is healthy at the end of the season and we are in the playoffs IMHO. If we had a healthy Cousins in the playoffs this past season everything would have been way different in terms of how teams could react to the small ball. Cousins isn't getting pushed around by Lebron or Steven Adams the same way Tucker was.
I don't have any hopes, this is like signing Greg Oden. Cousins has torn everything he can tear in his legs in the past 2 years
And to add to this highlight reel... Boogie's per 36 passing went from 3.2 assists per game in Sac to 5.0 per game with New Orleans/Golden State. He's literally a better passer than in this video!
Some of those passes are amazing for a center. A guy that big doing look away passes, pinpointing them right in your hand in motion to the basket, one handed full court bombs for transition layups. Damn, with a Silas offense with this guy, Westbrook and Harden the ball movement and motion might be exciting to watch when it starts to click. I hope they buy in and get great, high quality training camps and practices,
I don’t have much confidence with Cousins either. So much playing weight upon those legs/knees. Not sure why we aren’t going after Dedmon instead.
