Tampa has poor cash flow and can't handle pandemic without owner coughing up some money. Owner won't cough up money.
Hasn't he been pretty vocal about getting pulled in the world series? I feel like there was something else he was pretty against recently.
Whitley Javier Abreu I think that would be a very fair deal. May even have Tampa throw in Kiermaier and eat some of his salary.
Personally, I’d hate to trade Correa. I get it’s a business, but losing Springer already would be a blow to the culture. Money wise, I think it’s just a matter of what the Astros and CC agree upon. With Springer and JV off the books, the funds should be available; if Greinke needed to be moved in his final season, so be it. It’s just a matter of what Crane is willing to spend due to his injury history. I personally believe he could reach MVP status with a clean slate of health
After the way Correa showed up and represented this town and club, you have to keep him or at least try your best to keep him imo. Stayed healthy, shows up in postseason and is still young.
I don't want to trade Correa either, but isn't LeMahieu a hitting machine? Or was it all from cheating?
I dunno, the Cranes joined the Correas at the head table of their fundraiser dinner this week with Crane out bidding Carlos for a rare bottle of The Devil’s Keep from Craft Irish Whiskey by $5k. Maybe he'll gift it back to him once he signs?
With Lindor and Story likely on the market, the 3-4 everyday caliber SS available in free agency, the Astros trying to contend, the QO draft pick potential, Correa’s inconsistent track record, the huge crop of SS coming available next season, and not very many contenders having a need at SS, I have a really really hard time seeing Houston finding a match in a correa trade. I would be fine with it if it netted the Astros 2 MLB Top 50 prospects, but I would be shocked if any team offered that.
The Angels, Mets and maybe Reds are the teams that seem to make some sense to me. The Yankees could also be in position to acquire a star infielder, but I expect them to get either LeMahieu or Lindor (or both). From the Angels I would accept 2 of Adell, Marsh, and Adams along with a sweetener like Paris, Jones, or Soto. That would give Houston at least 1 core piece in the OF plus a longer term project who would boost their farm. From the Mets, I would accept any 2 of their top 3 prospects (Mauricio, Alvarez, Baty) plus one of Mark Vientos or Ali Sanchez. From the Reds, I would take any 3 from their top 9 prospects on mlb.com. All of those would be really really good deals for Houston, so again I will be shocked if Houston trades Correa and if they get a return like that.
