was just about to come and post this . idk if he’s washed , but if he’s got anything left it’s worth it to bring him in . Potentially a playmaker in the front court . Any athleticism left on D is a plus . I’m pretty sure he can shoot .
Rockets can only offer vet min until more cap space cleared. Stone does not seem capable of multi-tasking. Does not play 3-D chess like Morey.
Definitely sucks losing Uncle Jeff. He was a great fit here. I am sure the uncertainty of this team doesn't help.
I'm unhappy. I think the uncertainty in Houston had something to do with his decision. They probably offered more money too.
Yes. This can not be understated. He was an amazing fit here especially at the vet minimum. I am not sure how much BKN could offer Jeff, but I hope we did not low-ball him. In my opinion, he was one of the most consistent players on our team last year, and offered a skillset that will be impossible to replace bearing he didn't get a bag from BKN. There is no one else on the market that we can sign around his price range, that will replace what he offered the Rockets. I really enjoyed watching the reverse PnRs with Harden and his ability to start a fast break, finish at the rim, and be a versatile offensive weapon. It is strange to me because before he joined the Rockets, he was constantly being cut or not retained by his previous team(s). The Rockets were a perfect fit for his game. However, with all the uncertainty (like you mentioned) revolving around the Rockets, and not being championship contenders, it makes sense he may have gone to BKN for the same salary. This is a big loss, in my opinion especially when we have to fill six roster spots with minimum contract guys. damn shame.
prolly not a good thing lol . If he coached him in Portland he’d probably have a better impression of him
Batum at a minimum deal would be incredible. We definitely have a glaring hole at the 3/4 bench spot right now. What Green got paid (if it's minimum) and where Ibaka ends up (if it's BKN) will tell us a lot of what is to come. If Green and Ibaka are in Brooklyn I think we are going to see a full OKC reunion there.
Kyrie + LeVert + PJ to Philly. Harden + Russ to BKN. Simmons + Thybulle + Allen + Prince + Dinwiddie + Picks to Houston. Best player we can reasonably expect is Simmons. Brooklyn and Philly improve Trade Eric + picks for Bogdan in Sacramento. Dinwiddie Bogdan /McLeMore Thybulle / House Simmons/Prince Wood/Allen that doesn't look like an awful team to field in a year where we don't have our own picks. I'd prefer to keep Harden but if he won't sign the extension, trade him for Simmons now (whether through this method or a two team deal) and move on. Signing the extension quiets the noise for the year and allows the team to have more leverage in a trade next year with a 3+1 vs. a 1+1
Every team has made multiple moves, added multiple players, Stone has essentially made ONE move. Overly complicated move but it is the equivalent of a single transaction.
