    so these newbs and suckers on this thread have not experience rolling up in the BART to the Collesium and being greeted by the beautiful barb wire.

    And for San Francisco, it's obviously these fake know it alls, have never been to the Tenderloin or seen the beauty of needles on the sidewalks not far from Golden Gate Park.

    or jumping over turds on the sidewalk of the mission.

    From the local tv station,
    10 million dollars / month to put the homeless people in hotels in rich people's neighborhoods

    massive increase in crime
    break ins
    active shootings in broad daylight
    drug use
    firearms
    knives throwing
    overdoses

    3x 911 calls

    Dude you figure for 10 mill a month
    You can actually give the homeless people rehab and mental health assistance at a facility so that they don’t stay homeless. also they should do it far away from the city because none of the homeless people will get six figure jobs at google when they finish rehab to afford the rent there.
    And they have money left to buy everyone of them PlayStation fives .

    They're labeled super spreaders. No one will go there to treat them. Not like they can get jobs even if they want them.

    Masks aren't magic bullets to not get sick.

    There aren't any easy answers here.

    That should buy some treatment and rehab.

    the problem is nobody who doesn’t make $120k a year can live there. It’s $3500 for a one bedroom apartment.

    they live there cause the weather is good and they get free needles for drugs and there’s lots of drugs cause the city doesn’t prosecute petty crime

    I don't believe they are charged the regular consumer price. The Hotels which aren't full capacity and have rooms take the contracts at a discounted price.

    They could have actually done more to help the homeless with their real problems and actually get them housing for much less outside the city

    But as you can see from the video from local news
    It’s not going great for the residences down there

    I see that others here are posting random crap about other things not related to San Francisco and their problems

    Way more cost effective to move them to a cheaper area so the money mostly goes to rehab to treat root cause. And I think the big root cause for a lot of these long-term homeless people is mental health issues. Meds for mental health are -cheap-. They just require a script. Let's help them out that way, too.

    I sort of lean Libertarian on the drug addiction, though. I'm all for helping people, but if they relapse over and over, at what point do you just say, dude, you have to figure it out on your own. The first step is admitting you have a problem.

    also all the San Francisco people know what I’m talking about too and they know they don’t stick Susie on crappy stories

    sticking homeless people in the marina hotels is the same as sticking homeless people in West U

    The gov have to subsidize Walmart employees in the tune of $6B+ a year. 120m a city spent in their attempt to slow down covid is peanuts relatively and it was for a public health reason.

    from your point of people with drug problems need to recognize and solve their problem
    It’s not like they were born homeless

    look at Delonte West . He became homeless and he was a millionaire nba player

    People in that city ignore the root cause of the issue and just let them get by as forever homeless

    I would applaud doing other things to help the homeless.

    I see both pros and cons of the program.

    But misrepresenting the costs doesn't help anyone.
