Really have to see what the get in return for JH/Wb so we have an idea of ..... anything. I think at this point , its fruitless to ponder trades that end with Harden still on the roster. We don't know who we're building around or how they will play. Harden was what made this 3s and layups offense viable , this causes a major change in direction as there's literally no one to replace him.

This is a solid return on Harden. As the OP stated sets the table to pad stats for the next trade. I think Westbrook may want to stay though if he had the value around him like this team. This is a top 1/3 defensive team on talent alone. Good work sir.
blake griffin is the kind of guy ( and name) that tilman would want and chase rockets might be rebuild when harden gone but for the moment tilman still has a hand that has harden wb and gordon and hes a gambler vegas type and just finally his team to play with. tilman will want to play gm ( hasnt yet with morey in way) this is really tilman first chance to do it... also the "value" of rockets has taken a slight hit. so tilman needs harden and another star to make this team sellable in 2-5 years. he kinda has no choice so lottery and tank feels counter to any sense... and making them the kings or hornets doesnt do much really to value. tilman at this point kinda needs them to be better if for any other reason that he is looking at that 2 billion he paid and paying wondering how to climb out. a good team that just was in the finals or beat lebron is is theoretically in reach still and with covid gone by 2022 an uptick team and all his restaurants even half empty is better than now. it will be redemption time and riding high he can sell out then. now is the time to buy in tilman , the situation. when at its lowest in terms of perception and value. the team would practically instantly worth back with someone like griffin. tilman really believes hes smarter than everyone and to be fair hes the one with a billion and you are the one posting to the back page of a basketball bbs. so look for a name like blake griffin. paul george....a name like that. someone to pair with harden that gets you no worse than 5th seed in west. and gets to in team value. if hes screwed and trying to get out we will know then. for the moment he is new gm and they need some perception wins. harden isnt going to some team for dogsh*it... harden might be gone too soon enough but doubtful. hes tilman best card on contract 2 years. after next year is another story for now its almost impossible to see him go unless its a true haul herschel walker style
