Is there any chance the LG TV goes on sale this holiday? Or is whatever is considered best at the time not do that during this time?

Black Friday is your best bet, plus March/April when the new models arrive.

Their high end sets don't often hit the sales racks in the 65in and up range. You are better looking into Greentoe. Even last year's model, the 9-Series, is hard to come by and commonly retails for the same price as the new CX. The debate to purchase the C9, B9, E9 vs CX is a hot topic on Reddit these days.

I bought my 65" C9 around this time last year (in October I think). It was on sale at the time for around $1800. Never saw it go below that. Not sure if the newest model will go on sale at that size but this would be the time of year that it would.

I think it's to be had for about that right now - $1800. And yeah, probably wont dip lower.

    A 77'er! Almost as cool as 99'er. @tinman

I'd invite myself over to watch the Rockets but they don't broadcast them in 4K, the team sucks and Covid.

Almost clicked the check out button for a LG CX the other night. Had a youtube vid playing in the background and heard something about the quality degrading over time so I paused and started looking into that. Now I'm wondering if it is going to be overkill for my uses. I will rarely watch movies and when I do it will most likely be amazon prime or a rental. I think I watch youtube more than I do movies and TV broadcast. I play games and youtube mainly. Leaning now towards a samsung Q80, or back to the TCL6

I've got an OLED for a few years no quality degradation .
The lifespan of an OLED is 100,000 hours

It's not overkill. It's over thrill.
