on'y thing w Miami is there in a holding pattern hoping on giannis. I’m not sure they could swing harden at 40+ mill butler at a max and giannis at 40+ But Riley may be able to figure it out. Just hard seeing them give up Adebayo for harden unless they know giannis is off the table and herro while promising to me isn’t enough of a centerpiece imo

This is what he said to Windhorst on the podcast today, which realgm aggregated to use in an article.

"The sense I get from the Rockets is that their ambition, their goal, their hope is no longer about salvaging the relationship with James Harden and kind of getting him on board," said Tim MacMahon on the Brian Windhorst Podcast. "There's a realization, you know, his mind is made up. He wants out and there is a determination to say 'Okay, we get it. This happens in the NBA, but just because James Harden wants out doesn't mean he gets to dictate where and for what [he's traded].

"James Harden got to dictate the Russell Westbrook trade last summer. Tillman [Fertitta] liked it too at the time. Don't get me wrong. James Harden was the driving force behind that trade. That was no secret.

"Harden doesn't get to say where he's traded and basically force the Rockets to take a package that is 60 cents on the dollar for a perennial MVP candidate. I think what the Rockets are doing right now is they're prepping for the post-Harden rebuild."

MacMahon also reported what the Rockets are seeking for Harden.

"A package for Harden, and listen, this thing has accelerated a lot faster than I anticipated it would. These things are all fluid. We understand that. What the Rockets are saying is 'We need a young franchise cornerstone type of player and a Jrue Holiday-like package of picks. That's where conversations have to start.' And do you see a young franchise cornerstone caliber player on the Nets? Do you consider Caris LeVert either young or a franchise cornerstone?"

"Well, he's not Ben Simmons if that's your point," replied Brian Windhorst.

For the Russell Westbrook situation, there isn't a trade for them to make so they hope to keep him for now and he could possibly increase his trade value.

    Giannis will
Probably stay in Milwaukee now that they got him Holiday to go with Middleton. That’s better cast then what he would have in Miami

probably yes, but you won’t know that until next month. And giannis could also say let’s see how this season goes and also I dont think the harden thing stretches out that long, he gets into camp and tears an acl god forbid - bidders are done and you are literally selling for 50% on the dollar to Brooklyn

I mean, the guy starts the segment by saying "The sense I get from the Rockets is...", so what more do you want him to say? lol.

and not like it’s bs conjecture I mean the obvious thing is and smart business move is to trade him for the best package. He turned a huge extension and unfortunately he’s forcing the rockets hands.

It's funny to me when some people refuse to accept what's right in front of their face.

I get the feeling Giannis loves it in Milwaukee and obviously he is mr Wisconsin along with Aaron Rodgers. I think he will be there for a while

I may actually cry when he's officially traded. He may not be perfect but he's the best player we had in 20 years. Nearly always kept us with a fighters chance to win it all, never did load management. Just went out and hooped. Sad it ends because of Tilman.

It's incumbent on Silas to show that the Rockets can win without Harden for Harden to buy in IMO. I think Silas' offense will have to have enough diversity that the full weight isnt on Harden to win games. I think he can do it. Silas will unlock everyone strengths.

    Don't worry yall!

Harden doesn't really want to leave!

It's just all a media conspiracy!

Its all ESPN or BSPN ! They hate the Rockets and Harden, so they created this narrative!

All lies and bias, i tell you.

He won't get a chance to show Harden that ..... the damage is done.

The fact that they traded Covington and got nothing in return - then flipped that guaranteed 16th pick for a pick that will be No Better than the 17th pick in the next 4 drafts and could easily end up conveying as a second round pick .... tells us all we need to know - Its over , blown up.

The rockets should trade him for some older players that they can flip for high protected draft picks in future years.

Harden on the Nets with KD and Kyrie still there could be a cake walk to the finals, or could be an absolute fail. KD coming back from an Achilles injury, Kyrie I am not sure what to expect from him, he's had his share of injuries and has come back strong, but who knows.
