This was an era where I could root for the Warriors, the We Believe Warriors as well , especially giving the Mavs a hard time, the fans that could afford to go to those games were real and the ones that followed those teams knew basketball. The new era of Warriors basketball is really pathetic as far as their fanbase goes.

We really should let anyone from this org hear it. I don't care if it is Tilman or Stone, if they think they are going to hop on the mic when fans are in the stadium again without hearing it, they have another thing coming.

You guys are delusional if you think any internet shenanigans will rattle Tilman and make him want to sell the team. With a few notable exceptions (see eg trump) old white guy billionaires don’t care what us commoners think.

I’d focus my attention on shadow GM Patrick, lol. I know if my dad bought my favorite team when I was in my twenties and told me to run it, only to have everyone hate me, I’d be pretty bummed.

One star review tf out of his restaurants and casinos sounds good to me. Biden supporter rally at Kemah would certainly piss him off

    Sure. And draft picks too.

Putting aside whatever is going on with the culture/chemistry within the franchise, I'm not saying we wouldn't be in much better shape if we had someone like Ballmer who doesn't really care what he spends. We 100% would, but a lot of NBA owners aren't like that and Les definitely wasn't. Pre-COVID and the economic impact it seemed like Tilman's line as well Morey and now Stone covering for him has generally always been that we'll go into the tax if it will push us over the hump (i.e. Jimmy Butler) but we're not going to do it if it doesn't and if we are in the tax it starts the clock on having to tear it down in three years to avoid the repeater. Whether that was true or not, none of the moves we made prior to the Ariza salary dump have been inconsistent with that. And the Ariza dump does remain to be seen whether we actually spend the MLE. If we use it to get Christian Wood then you can't really look at as a dump, but we'll see if that actually happens.

Of course the flaw with that always was that the repeater could ultimately be an invisible bogeyman down the road that never shows because something falls apart before then, which looks like is what will happen.

If you have to take out large loans to finance the purchase of an NBA franchise, you shouldn’t have been granted the right to buy the team. Now, the Warriors’ luxury tax bill is absurd, and most owners wouldn’t go that far. However, there is a huge middle ground between that and cutting corners at all costs to stay below the luxury tax with a contending team like Fertitta has every season he’s owned the Rockets.

This is also precisely why I don’t see the Rockets signing anyone significant with their MLE, or using the trade exception generated by the trade with Detroit. Until Fertitta proves me wrong with his actions, I will assume all he cares about is saving money at the expense of the on-court product.

Wealthy people don’t use their own money to invest. They borrow and make more than the interest.

It's not just the cost cutting(which is trash) I dont care what his reasoning was, when you have a 65 win team and James Harden in his absolute prime, you spend, you dont cut costs. Look at what Cleveland did. It's that he interferred with personnel decisions and would not let Morey do his job. The guy isnt just not spending money on the roster, he isnt spending money on the coaching staff nor the scouting department and he certainly wont spend money to improve the analytics department. We are screwed.

If you don’t pay luxury tax, you get Luxury tax profit.

If Tillman spends $99 million next season he may get $20 million luxury tax profit.
    Who knows now?

He could always bring Harden and Russ in as co-owners; take some cash strain off him ;) hell, he might be working for them before the year's out.
