Bob meyers is such a great GM and of course it helps to work for non-meddling and non-cheapskate owner. I thought getting Eric Gordon or fournier was probably the best they could hope for. But with only days away from their toe expiring they managed to grab a young and improving player. Wonder what the compensation will be. Guessing not the wolves pick, but maybe warriors pick.

This doesn't make Bob Meyers a great GM. Much of the Bob Meyers moves have come as a result of (i) ownership being willing to spend a f'ton, and (ii) having Steph Curry, who was drafted before he got there. He is a very very good GM, just saying, this move doesn't really scream that one way or the other.
Doesn't matter in my opinion. I think ownership and FO are working together well, that's all a franchise can ask for IMHO. And a city or area. People like stardom too much, even in a job like the GM job. Work hard, execute hard.
It's good when you have an owner who's not afraid to spend $. I don't know if Oubre can replace Klay but he'll help. With a healthy Curry the Warriors got a shot.
I like the way he carries himself. Shares decision making, credit and communicates with the team, coach and media. He's been the warriors gm since 2012 and I've never heard one negative about him. He drafted dray and klay and barnes. He fired mjackson even when most of the fans thought it a bad decision (curry and myself included). The Steve kerr hiring was his idea and along with curry transform the franchise Beyond the wins, losses and drafts, meyers also great building relationships with the players but also the community in the bay area. Lacob can be an annoying personality, but with meyers in charge and face of the team the warriors are well regarded and supported by the prickly bay area public. The chase center purchase, move, the recent (failed) 50% attendance proposal could have been all huge public disasters without him. Edit to add:. He didn't listen to dumbasses like myself and probably the vast majority of nba media and did not trade klay/dray for love. He instead listen jerry west, whom he often credits for everything from drafting to decision making.

The reason the Warriors have titles and we don't is because their ownership is willing to spend +$70 million just to acquire a decent player while our ownership gives up assets to save money.
I can't remember EVERY trade they made, but it seems like a LOT of those picks are likely to be meh. I think Presti's goal is to package a ton up. The Rockets, if they go to tank mode, might be the best picks
