    within the year.

The Rockets will have three all-stars and the best record at the break.

All you guys who are ordering that pricey Christian Wood steak entree are going to feel ripped off when restaurant owner Tilman serves you a Willy Cauley-Stein sandwich instead.

I'd settle for an Aaron Baynes burger.

seriously. That guy doesn't take into consideration that A) Detroit may not want to pay Wood more than what other teams will offer B) Wood doesn't want to stay there. He is an UFA. He's already tweeted about taking less money and he's already posted a video asking people where he should go next on IG. The trade last night without a promise from Detroit would be strange in a vacuum.

So he could theoretically make $15 M in Detroit or $13M in Houston. A) after taxes it's negligible. 4.25% flat tax on state income. meaning it's $14.7 vs. $12.8 per year before federal income taxes just basing it off his 1/2 games played in Detroit vs. 1/2 games played in Houston. More nuanced math is needed but I believe you are paid based on where your games are played so playing for Houston you get 1/2 state income free + all the games you play against divisional teams in Texas. B) He gets a chance to actually compete C) Detroit get a TPE and wiggle room by doing a SNT. D) Wood will be 29 years old when he is a free agent. Don't you think that winning games will make him worth A LOT more money in 4 years? The money shouldn't be an issue here. It's where he wants to play.

Other teams can offer him $15M if they wanted to. It's not like the Knicks aren't dying to have a 10th center on their roster.

by patient, I mean wait to see what happens tomorrow. No later, as I assume all of the key free agents have already made up their minds.

if we sit here tomorrow night and nothing has happened, I will grab my pitchfork to stand next to you.

Same! except more like Monday because some precursor moves may have to be done to really flesh it out.
