Something we agree on for once ..... I've followed this franchise since they moved here from San Diego .... that was 1971. 49 years of ups and downs .... Tilman is the only thing that's ruined it for me in all those years. Think I'll watch the 6ers or Bucks this season instead of giving this loser a single view. Dude haven't all the other cost cutting moves told you all you need to know about Tilman ? I could list them for you but it would just piss us all off to read it. They'll get a poo poo platter for Harden and another for Westbrook .... and mediocrity will be the ceiling for the foreseeable future.
This is what doesn't make sense. He is dumb. He has James Harden and Brodie in their Prime! He can sell and make a larger profit now than if he waited and sold a rebuilding team that is tanking!
Exactly my situation. I will celebrate 50 years as a Rockets fan next year, if Tilman doesn't drive me away before then. What's happening here is not once-in-a-decade ugly, it's once-in-a-franchise ugly.
I think if Tillman Fertitta sells and leaves the Team Harden will give new ownership a chance. Sadly Harden has 3 more years left. Morey and his dumb drafting, bad trades during the last 8 years has been mediocre or poor.
10/10 post. RIP Rockets. As for Tilman... there is a rather poetic meaning in his name... Till is literally the compartment on a cash register to lock away money.
The last time I was this disappointed as a fan was when they traded Moses Malone to the 76ers. And we all know how that ended up for the 6ers , they won a title and Moses a finals MVP the next year while we lived thru a 14 & 29 win seasons. IDK , maybe the start of the 86-87 season was as disappointing after a finals appearance then Lew and Wiggins getting suspended .... that was depressing too. Yeah , I'm sicker than that thinking about where this team is headed. And you know , RahFellStone might not be a bad GM , hell he may even be a really good one but it doesn't matter with this moron owner. That rat b*stard has broken our team.
Any clause in Les' contract when he sold the Rockets to Tilman, if Tilman sells the team, it has to remain in HOU? Sometimes rock bottom is not the lowest bottoms.
40 years being a fan and I’m genuinely concerned for the franchise. What happens from here? Does TF continue running it into the ground? Does he end up having to sell to someone that wants to move the team? I don’t think it’s too soon to ask some tough questions. Or maybe this just hurts to see and I’m a little emotional. I’m truly bothered by what is going on.
I just don’t get the endgame here for Fertito? At some point you have to start making moves to improve the team or fans will revolt and not buy tickets, merch, etc. While I get he is broker now than he was in 2019 due to Covid I don’t think he has though through the magnitude of his cheapness towards the Rockets. Even if Covid wasn’t going on right now, very little people in the City of Houston, the City where he makes most of his money, we can easily boycott his establishments as well as the Rockets so it is just a baffling bad business decision to piss off your fan base which can very easily boycott your establishments. Sell the team is the only way to not drive this franchise and his family business into the ground. When it does inevitably happen he will blame Covid when actuality it was his own stupidity treating Houston people like dumbasses since he bought the team so why would ever frequent his establishments?
Every time I feel bad about the Rockets I remind myself they don't know me or care that I cheer for them to do well, then I do something else, lol.
I just want to see what Silas and his team can do with Harden, Russ and EG, everything else I don't care.
Last franchise to fold was the Baltimore Bullets in the 1950s... Baltimore still doesn't have a team.
i'll be a rockets fan for life, but i don't have to support this ownership with my money. Since Tillman bought the team, the team has gotten progressively worse. Our GM jumped ship, our star players don't to be here, and Tillman keeps pillaging the team selling picks and assets to pocket the cash. This sh#t stinks and i'm frankly angry. I know there's a lot that goes on behind the scenes that we are not privy to, but i'm a results driven person -i believe in accountability. And where we are right now indicates that something has gone badly wrong. I'm sure it's not all Tillman's fault, but it's very clear that he is a big part of the problem. What do we do ...take out an add in the chron asking him to sell the team to someone wealthy enough not to have to skim off the top ...at the team's expense? There is so much crap and hatred and division and cynicism out there in the world today. My rockets are a big escape mechanism for me; a real outlet for fun and enjoyment. But it's been spoiled. I look at the Texans and the Astros and now the Rockets ...it's freaking terrible guys. If you are a Houston sports fan all you can do is cry yourself to sleep. I guess i'll have to focus on other ways to take my mind off these crazy times because it sure as hell isn't fun to be a rockets fan.
