Roco serves as the win-now choice

#16 would have started the rebuild. Ariza could probably be moved for 2 SRPs at the deadline from a contender.

NTMLE does what? we won't get a better player than roco/capela for that money, so it doesn't help win now. it doesn't help to rebuild. what are we doing here?

I’d rather have Les Alexander back to be honest.

This should be a multiple question choice and the obvious answer

    Shouldn't LTS be an option?

Perhaps the thought was to garner both the NT-MLE and the 12M trade exception. Perhaps a Wood signing (s&t) was already in place?

No idea. Let’s see on Friday.

I was for taking the 16th, but I was apprehensive that Stone would get us another Sam Dekker type or worse. Ro-Co is the obvious answer.

NTMLE for Ibaka is worse than having Ro-Co around. He has no explosion left. Ro-Co plus the MLE for even Noel would make more sense then this.

Picks are useless when the “GM” is just the mouthpiece for fertitta.

can't use both. the NTMLE would mean you can't spend over the tax line. using it would put us about $1M under that line. can't spend the $12M TPE on top of that.

Tilman hasn't used the MLE the past couple of off-seasons, and i don't expect him to start now. Besides, who would want to come play for this sh*t show.

I fear Tilman will find a way to move the team to Las Vegas, or sell it to another owner who will remove the Rockets name, and take it to another city.

Christian Wood is just another offensive version of Ro-Co. He can dunk better, but he can't defend as well as him. I doubt if he will take the NTMLE.

This is the real and obvious answer. If we could all learn to enjoy thrifty cost cutting moves, maybe that might take some of the sting out of losing coaches, general managers, and once in a generation caliber basketball players.

If you can get Christian Wood for the NT-MLE, unrealistic or not, then I’d prefer this route over keeping Roco or Ariza + #16.

Wood fits either rebuild or contend option, and as good as RoCo is, presents much greater upside to a franchise desperately looking for a spark.
