The one that The one that works with the fewest side effects. Unless they are super powers or penis growth.
Both are mRNA vaccine which is a new tech and has had no long term studies done on humans. If you are over 60, I would say go for it. If you are young, I would be in a wait and see mode. Would prefer the traditional vaccine that Oxford is making. It is all about risk/reward. I am not a Anti-vaxxer. I take vaccines and get folks in my family vaccinated. Just using some common sense here.
I'm guessing the Moderna one will be more widely available since it doesn't need to super cold storage. Also to note there are several other potential vaccines out there including one from the PRC that are showing effectiveness. https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-health-coronavirus-sinovac-idUKKBN27X35I I get the feeling even under a Biden Administration the Sinovac or other PRC vaccine won't be available in the US for political reasons but if it it shows it is effective and more importantly is able to be stored easier than Moderna's or Pfizer's that one might be more widespread worldwide.
mRNA is a new technology but the Moderna Phase III trial has more than 30,000 participants and so far there isn't reported problems. Also by the time it is widely available to the public it, or any other vaccine, will have already been deployed to frontline health care workers and those in the highest risk category.
I understand that but that is still a short term data. I want to see if any long terms adverse effects as in a couple of years or more after taking vaccine. Something that isnt apparent now but could crop up later.
This. I've holed up for half a year plus. Probably caught it late Feb. Don't mind waiting an extra two months of insanity to see how the early adopters shake out. One drug that was a promising treatment, Avigan, has indicators that it's a teratogen. Don't make babies anytime soon... Plus who knows how distribution will shake out. I imagine it to be like how testing was in March... In any case, we should heavily enforce masking for the entirety of 2021 even with a smooth April rollout, but these aren't simple times.
I am going to try to catch it and take 2 weeks vacation and come back immortal. My wife says I am an idiot.
I like the idea of Moderna's because of the cold storage not being needed, but I've heard that it will be regional where the different vaccines are available and you may not have a choice.
Yeah my guess is there could be a Walgreens vs CVS component here too. I think those two stores are going to be the primary outposts for distribution and depending on which store you go to will determine which vaccine you get. I doubt we’ll see military tents with drive through sites like you’d normally see in the movies where the leaders actually act like a quarter of a million people are dead and action like that is taken. Instead it’s American under oligarchy rule and everything is corporatized.
First available, both if I could. I want to see live music ASAP, I want to see the family , I want to eat out 67 so//
