I appreciate your perspective on a Harden to Boston trade, and please keep posting here. You are being reasonable, unlike a lot of Celtics’ fans that think the Rockets should be happy with Kemba or Hayward and picks. Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart and picks is a reasonable offer for a player of Harden’s caliber, and it makes sense for Boston considering the other teams in the mix for him.

 

What you said is the kicker. Harden has openly said he’s cool with Boston. Boston has a great young team. Realistically there isn’t any reason to break that team up. They can win a title. I wouldn’t include Tatum in any Harden deal just purely because of age. Everyone else would be easily dealt for Harden if he hasn’t expressed desire to play in Boston.

#1 , it’s hard enough to get “fair” value for harden alone . Trades for mvp caliber players tend to be like that .

#2 no way in HELL can we get back anywhere close to fair value if we also throw in PJ and/or Gordon . Those guys by themselves have some value (contracts not albatrosses and can be at least 6th men on contending teams )

I’m kinda against packaging James with either of those guys unless it bumps the return up or it turns into a 3-4 team deal .

i posted few days ago, can't think of any player on harden's level that's been on the trading block going all the way back to perhaps moses malone, who was also playing at MVP level when we traded him to, ironically, philly
