Bucks run a 5 out system with a stretch 5, a real tall one.

    Everyone is allowed to shoot.

Brook Lopez and others move the ball around.

While Harden seems fixated on Brooklyn at the moment, I think it would be prudent to consider that that may not remain the case. As that story has been told, it sorta developed as Harden and KD got to talking. "Hey, what about this" type of thing. I will agree that I wouldn't expect too much to change between now and the beginning of the season. But, if Harden is still in Houston by the time the season starts, once teams start playing games, things could change.

--Brooklyn could start out gangbusters and decide they like what they got.
--Brooklyn could start out terrible with locker room issues and Harden could rightly decide he no longer wants to be there.
--Harden, Russ and Tilman could make up.
--KD may not be as healthy (fully recovered from surgery) as most believe.
--And God forbid, a key guy could get injured.

So I would say its less than clear that Harden will remain a "going to Brooklyn only player". And the longer things go on, the more likely something could happen to derail his team preference.

So you’re projecting Jrue to be better in the future? But not better right now?

Well yeah, he just went to the team with the best record in the East the last two years. Of course he’ll be better, will he produce more individually?

I agree with you, but that wasn’t what I was debating. Yolo said Jrue was the better player right now. It’s just not true.

Oh so now it’s he’s a better player for teams?
Moving the goalposts a bit there.

And his future isn’t very long. Y’all keep acting like the dude is 25. He’s on the downside of his career just like Westbrook. And he’s been hurt more.

No it’s not, you said Jrue was a better player than Westbrook. He isn’t.
He might be a better fit, he might be better value for his contract.
He is not the better player.

    I would strongly disagree.

Jrue Holiday is easily better. Widely regarded as the best defensive guard in the league.

Westbrook has the potential, the talent, the athletic ability to be better, but his brain holds him back from being that.

You clearly are the one backtracking.
You verbatim said Jrue is better than Westbrook as a player. No qualifier, no distinction.

Literally no one says Jrue Holiday is the best defensive guard in the league. No one.

He is good, he’s made a couple all defense teams.

Maybe you should re read the posts. You are clearly not understanding the words that have been written.
I, in fact have said value and fit are different than ability. You still doubled down and said Jrue was better and would be better in the future, like he has some magical de aging potion.
It’s ok to be wrong, there’s no shame in it.

    Welp

Former MVP Kevin Durant joined the podcast and Redick brought up the topic of Holiday

“Jrue Holiday is solidified as probably the best defender in the league at the guard position. When we talk about defense, a lot of people don’t really understand what defense really means. For different positions, especially at point guard, the stuff you have to do to guard, they don’t get a lot of credit for fighting over screens especially now they getting screened at half court, guys are running off of pindowns. ”

“You put Jrue in any system, any coach is going to ask him to guard the best player. We played them in 2018, second round and he guarded me the whole series. He was picking me up full court, he was guarding me in the post. Actually, it was tough to dribble on Jrue Holiday. He slides his feet so well, he’s got good hands, he’s strong, he’s got good instincts. I gained a lot of respect for him in that series because he went from guarding me to Klay (Thompson) to Steph (Curry) to guarding Draymond (Green), neutralizing picks and rolls. He’s special. He’s special on that side of the ball.”
