for people that only care about putting up empty numbers sure. I could give two craps about that. Winning is all that matters.

This year he wasn’t a great 3 pt shooter. Below his career average. The caveat is volume, .355 is decent when you take 11 a game.

    What has Jrue ever won?
Has he even been to the playoffs?

*yes I know he’s been to playoffs. Very few times and no success.

In a sense, AD did "screw" NO by leaving and removing a core element of their team but in his defense he'd been there for 7 years and only tasted the playoffs twice I believe. The name of the game is rings and he wasn't going to get near one in NO. What AD did differently is that he made it known that he wanted out but left it open (publicly) as to where. Privately, NBA GMs got the message that AD would only sign with LA. It was fortunate that LA had the picks and young players to make that deal. Harden knew that by going public in the manner he did, he'd force the Rockets into a corner where they had no choice but to grant his wish.

Now, you have to ask yourself just which team is now going to meet Houston's asking price for Harden knowing full well that he'd only be a rental who'd be headed to Brooklyn at the first opportunity. And Brooklyn is not about to gut thier team and waste their shot at a title just to get Harden. The Rockets can stand firm now but Harden's public stance leaves them with maybe a year to move him and the longer it takes, the less they will get for him because everyone knows that he'll only play for one team. If he plays out the 2021 season in Houston, the offers will only get worse because everyone will know he's headed to Brooklyn.

As for OKC, trading away Westbrick and PG was part of their strategy as they are committed to rebuilding. Presti is stockpiling assets for that rebuild and I expect Stone to start doing the same. Like it or not, the Rockets are facing the same rebuild as is SA and NO. Only the Mavs seem poised to make the jump to legitimate contenders because unlike here, they had the right coach in place and a GM with a plan for constructing a team AND they've found their young franchise player. The next 3-4 years are going to truly suck in Houston but that's the nature of the beast in today's NBA.

The question was rhetorical and mocking. He’s been 4 times in how many seasons?
    With no success

He is a decent scorer, more scorer than distributor.

A shorter and worse shooting Middleton who is already on the team.

He scores more than Bledsoe or George Hill if that's what you're asking.

Bogdanovic is pretty intriguing to have plus Jrue.

You said winning is all that matters, and Jrue is better because of that. Yet Jrue is worse than Westbrook at those specific things. Again disingenuous

again you're trying to hang onto some past because hes that bad now. That doesn't matter. The question is who is the better player now, not nearly a decade ago. what he was back then in no way is relevant now. jrue is by far the better player that teams will covet in this modern era

But I was just told he does all the things modern point guards should do, how does that make sense?

Jrue hasn’t had success in years. He’s not young, he is what he is and isn’t going to get better.
Westbrook is and still is the better player.

They run a 5 out system like the Rockets did but with far taller players, a real stretch 5 and more ball movement.

Everyone can shoot, even Giannis is allowed to.

For what its worth. I'm willing to bet any amount of money that Jrue holiday will have more success this year than Westbrook.

The Rockets would take Jrue with the same contract. Russ has a very specific game and style of play that doesn't fit with a lot of teams. Jrue is the better defender,
The Rockets would take Jrue on the same contract because he's a better fit. He's the better shooter, defender, and decision maker. Russ is probably the better one man show player but he's not a better player for team ball.

Medicine, like any other science, relies on probability and statistical studies. Yes, miracles can happen, they are the exceptions. I wish Durant was one of the exceptions.
