Westbrook hates Tillman. He doesn’t want to play under trumpet a second longer. With Westbrook’s temperament you don’t want a hot head like him here angry

Elections have consequences. Trump in office eventually destroyed the current Rockets. MRGA.

If I’m the Rockets, I want one of Simmons, Brown or Pascal Siakam headlining my return for Harden. I’d prefer Simmons because of his ability to make others better and his elite defense, but I would be fine with any of the three players. Boston, Toronto and Philadelphia should be motivated to stop the Nets from forming a super team in their own division, while also making their own teams better.

I read that too and very well could be true but I’d also point out and u guys know more than me- when star players want out their teams and reps will put ANYTHING out there into the ether to A) get where they want b) win the perception and optics battle. While I am positive they don’t like he’s supported the GOP and donated to trump I’m not totally believing that’s 100 % a deal breaker as more of a pr spin

I disagree, AD was injury prone and not as good of a player with an expiring contract.

Harden is older but game not predicated on athleticism, durable, longer contract.

Id say it’s at minimum a wash value wise.

if I took that Boston package I’m sure as hell shipping Westbrook out next. I don’t need him to hamper Brown, Smart or Turner the way he did with Oladipo and Schroeder. I’d ship him off to New York for two 1sts and a $41 million trade exception.

I hear you. Again like it’s Boston’s issue to keep harden, Westbrook’s deal is all you guys and you know your team better than me. I will say tho- oladipo didn’t thrive in Orlando, and also has had some issue now in Indiana. While Russ is polarizing most of his teammates do usually speak very very highly of him.

again tho, whatever each of our teams do after a deal is their decision and or problem

Dumpster fire meet extinguished dumpster fire ( Dinwiddle / J Allen / C LeVert)

Most of these players are rentals while the Rockets dwell near the bottom.

if the Rockets trade Harden for garbage (roles players + late first round picks) they are going to cement themselves in the lottery for the next decade.

I'm not against trading Harden but we have to get value for a top ten NBA player in his prime. Otherwise you hold onto him. He's still under contract for two years. Look at what NOP did with AD.

I understand Houston doesn’t want to be labeled as a place that won’t work with stars if they don’t trade James where he wants to go.

That being said they gotta come out publicly and say something like we really want to accommodate James but Brooklyn needs to obtain more appealing assets in order to make this work or bring in a 3rd team.

Unless Brooklyn is trading all those role player and 4 first rounders unprotected and 2 second rounders there is no deal here.

So you want to trade Harden for a guy who can be a 2nd or 3rd best player and hope one day you can get a proper #1, and #2? No thanks. Starts with Tatum or you hang up the phone. Those late picks don't move the needle either. Brown is a really nice player, but Simmons ceiling is way higher. It's at least MVP type of potential and all timer level if a shot is developed and i'd like Silas working with him. Morey would come through with a much better package as i really don't think Tilman wouldn't trade Harden there because of Morey. D'Antoni left in a messed up way too and is in Brooklyn and that doesn't seem to be a problem. Either way, i just tell Harden to suck it up and play on before i trade him for some nice #3 player on a hypothetical team where we can sign a superstar or 2, years later.

Get Morey, Ainge and Sean Marks one upping each other until the price is right if you trade Harden. Maybe even Masai jumps in as all 4 compete for division supremacy. Throw in NY too for Russ trying to stay relevant in that division.

Hopefully Silver intervenes and vetos all trades for Harden citing basketball reasons.
