Don't play him in back to backs and build up his trade value.

Trevor has played with both Harden and Wall...so hopefully we keep Harden? If not I trade off Harden and get Simmons and Wall to rebuild? it all sounds dumb when you have a top 5 player under contract for multiple seasons.

73 games the last 3 years (missed all of last year)
    Coming off Achilles
2 years younger (JW 30; RW 32; but as we saw with Chris Paul/Westbrook, may not mean anything.)
    Same money as Westbrook

    $41,254,920
    $44,310,840
    $47,366,760

Not sure either side can ask for more assets?

If he can't play back to backs, then you aren't going to build up his trade value. He has a lot of money remaining on that deal, he is going to have to prove he is healthy if he would be an attractive piece to other teams.

Wall is just so much smarter than Westbrook that I’d prefer him just based on that alone

There was so much smoke that the whole New Orleans almost caught fire and yet it still took several months until Anthony Davis got traded.

I have no clue. Even at his peak, Wall was crazy overrated. His contract is worse than Westbrook's, IMO. The only way you make this deal is if you're rebuilding and Washington will give you picks. Otherwise, this is just crazy.

Rockets can ask for a pick because at least Westbrook has been mostly healthy and has not had any devastating injuries. Rockets are technically taking a risk with Wall (meaning can he stay healthy). Wizards on the other hand know what they are getting, the only risk is whether Westbrook is still going to play at an MVP level after looking like dog **** in the playoffs.

Who made more playoffs appearances between Westbrook and Wall? Just curious, the Wizards have been horrible for years with Wall as their franchise player, not sure why we should expect the Rockets to be much better if we swap Westbrook for him, he can't play off ball either, not a solid shooter, not exactly a great lockeroom guy either, Washington always had lockeroom problems since he has been there...sure, he's a good defender and passer...coming off achilles.

I actually don’t hate this. Assuming, of course, Wall is healthy.

Bottom line: you have to pick a focus when it comes to trading Westbrook. You’re either A) mainly concerned about getting out of his hideous contract. Whether that’s breaking it up, acquiring expiring deals, etc — or option B) Not willing to accept a talent downgrade and basically committed to rebuilding on the fly.

Batum (expiring) + whatever would be option A
Wall + whatever would be option B

    Make a decision.
