Apparently we don't have Rockets only fans here

You don't love Hakeem Olajuwon. Go to the Nets site.

Olajuwon made the illegal defense rule obsolete. Had it been enforced, Hakeem would have averaged 50/game once he got the fall away working. He was unguardable without playing zone.

Hakeem is a Houston legend, we all know he is number one in this City.

James Harden is also Houston Rocket legend, but has yet to win the big one, so he is only a legend to the Houston Rockets, but not to the whole City. Huge difference.

Imagine if Hakeems physical prime years weren't wasted post Ralph injury fall off and trade. From '87 to '92..basically wasted. Although 92 had key guys and a necessary mid season coaching change that would later pay off. If Tilman owned that team, Hakeem relationship never gets fixed and our legacy would be trading Hakeem Olajuwon for Stanley Roberts.

To be fair, Hakeem had also demanded a trade (would have gotten Stanley Roberts, I believe). It's that threat that woke up the organization. Let's hope Harden is doing the same.

In relation to James Harden. A little slap in the face of whats to come...

“If you have a disgruntled and unhappy superstar and there are irreconcilable differences then a trade nearly always happens at some point,” Armato said. - Hakeem's agent

"One intriguing trade with the Miami HEAT reportedly came pretty close to happening. The deal was centered around Glen Rice, Steve Smith and Rony Seikaly, but the HEAT were reticent to “gut their nucleus” for just one player, no matter how good.

Houston later came back at Miami with an offer of Olajuwon and Sleepy Floyd for Seikaly, Grant Long and Harold Minor. This time, the HEAT declined."

Yeah fellas...prepare for the worst if you can't convince Harden to stay like we did with Hakeem.

    Agree 100%.

But Harden is a generational player who will make 'best' in categories when he's done. SMH

Imagine Olajuwon getting eliminated during his Championship run against a David Robinson-less Spurs by 40 at home. Or being benched in the 4th quarter of an elimination game and getting bailed out by Chucky Brown and Mario Elie. Or a scrub like Adam Keefe dropping 30 and making a name off of him.

Hakeem had every right to be pissed. Ownership was being super shady with the way they were treating Hakeem rightfully asking for a pay raise and not wanting to pay him and then accused him of faking injuries to sit out. Charlie Thomas was a real scumbag in all of that just to save money/maximize profit of the team sale. After all that, it was Hakeem on a flight to an exhibition game who missed Charlie Thomas's family and his supposed friend who was smearing Hakeems name. Hakeem the amazing human being was the one who didn't want to go.

Harden on the other hand has been treated like a king since day 1 and gotten everything he wanted including forcing the trade that destroyed our championship contending team and ultimately being the cause for him to want a trade. Harden is the scumbag in this. Tilman is part of the problem, but Harden is also a part of the problem. Harden has shown zero honor that Hakeem had shown to want to stay and honor his contract and the city that took him in and rode with him all along.
