    You are right, there is that to it, but that is part of the balls statement. Who cares about their immediate reputation? That changes if they win and they can win by making winning moves.

    It will take balls from the Rockets and balls from the other team (in this scenario, Minny) to just tell Harden to get over it.

    The Rockets at the end of the day have to do what is best for them. If they aren't getting a king's ransom then they should just keep Harden.

    I don't understand the urgency, I mean unless a deal is worth it (huge amount of picks/huge talent), wait it out. They act like his contract is expiring when he has 2 seasons. It's not like the Rockets have much to lose with shopping around more/waiting- if it still comes to that... I mean you don't just make a deal to make one - and so far all these rumored deals are not great coming from the Nets.

    I agree with not wanting to upset the franchise/locker room etc but it's clearly a dumpster fire so you need to wait some time here and get something good back for a guaranteed superstar. Right now the reporting is acting like this is the only deal. If this is the only deal wait it out, you're not losing much and Harden can join at trade deadline or be traded after this season - or. Hell wait till next deadline/after that season it really doesn't matter and he can then S&T (assuming there aren't real deals offered) - or maybe Tilman is forced to sell the team saving the franchise... I Wouldn't just give up Harden for nothing - ie don't pull a Texans trade just because you can make a trade...

    Brooklyn can too. If Harden is done, and the Rockets will struggle to contend, taking more and more time to trade him will only be huge opportunity cost to the Rockets rebuild.

    Why delay the inevitable and miss out and 2020, 2021, or whatever draft picks? And then risk of injury/decline.

    Money people are running the Rockets. Not this GM stone. They’ll look at this through the lense of business on every level. Trading him now before variables change in BKN and the league overall make sense.

    But I would be fascinated to know what offers other teams gave. I’m sure Toronto called, Boston called, Philly, SA, LAC probably called. Lakers.

    I’m sure damn near every playoff team tinkered around.

    KOC just stated that Morey was willing to offer more than just Ben Simmons for Harden but Tilman is a little petty b**** and won't trade Harden to Philly

    Basically. When Harden is averaging 30+ ppg again, GM's will be offering 1st round picks for the next 15 years.
