Hedley Lamarr: What's that in the bag you're carrying?
    Tilman (flop sweat): K-Y.
Hedley Lamarr: Lube, ay? I hope you brought enough lube for eeeev-ery-one?

KAT coming would probably make Harden reconsider.

The confusion is that it doesn't move the needle. It's something marginal.

That's what I meant but maybe I just do not like the business side of transactions.

If it translates to a better record, all for it.

Idk. Maybe add the Portland 2020 pick to WB for the NYK. Expiring and the #8?

    Dreaming?

Each added year to Harden the less value he has. Maybe the Sixers will think at 32, Harden is not worth it for Simmons. Simmons stop k is also relatively low due to his non-existence in the bubble due to injury. Next year, the Sixers might not consider Harden for Simmons especially if Simmons comes back with marked improvement and a great season.

It's hard to tell what's in Harden's mind now. Mauve this is all bluffing to scare Tillman to spend and do something drastic to add something to this team. Who knows.

Or Maybe Simmons suffers a set back and is never the same player again? He did just miss the playoffs due to injury. This works both ways. I'm taking my chances with a guy who doesn't miss games vs the guy who is busy Keeping Up with the Kardashians (James is past that stage).

IF NO OTHER MOVES ARE MADE UNTIL THE DRAFT......THE PICK AT #16 WILL TELL US A LOT!!

If they pick Precious Achiuwa, Harden and/or Westbrook is staying. He is a younger version of Covington with more upside.

If they pick Josh McDaniel or Alskej Poskusevski Harden and Westbrook are both getting traded. Both players will need 2-3 yrs to develop

No matter what, having Harden next year is much better for our short term outlook than any other options. No argument there. But the problem is what happens if we hold on to Harden too long where his value diminishes enough were we can't get a haul that is a decent rebuild core? This could make us far more irrelevant for far longer. It's a tricky situation. Harden's value is only going to diminish from here on out due to his age.

One more aspect, Rosas did KAT a solid by getting his best friend DLo Russell.

    Would be all for nothing.

I think that theory went out the window when they dumped Roco for what will inevitably some scrub at pick 16 in this weak ass draft.

My hope is that he is doing this as power move to force Tilmans hand. Lord knows that none of us can do anything about it. Management can't convince him. Only his cash cow can convince him.

Harden steps out that door and the franchise will lose quite a bit of value when they are threading water for the next decade. Tilman casino/restaurant business is already suffering, he doesn't need the Rockets to suffer as well. He has TV deals to hang on to, but if no one is coming to the games, which eventually we will get back to, then he is going to lose quite a bit of revenue.

It's not cut and dry, I agree, but if there is a sliver of hope to convince James to sign long term between now and 12/22, you do every ****ing possible thing to encourage him to do so. We heard that he declined his extension... Why wouldn't he? They've been trying for months to get him to sign it. He ends his trade eligibility for the year if he signs it. Best case scenario is the team does enough between now and December 22, 2020 to convince him to sign it and he plays out the year. Next year he has 4 years left on his deal and we can get a King's Ransom if it doesn't work out.

I agree, this draft is not a great one by any means but you still may be able to get a solid role player. This team needs some sort of assets in the worst way and aging veterans is not going to cut it.

Maybe because it feels like forever since we had a 1st rd pick, so just the idea of having a mid-1st pick this draft is new and refreshing.

Isn't our 2021 pick protected though? Maybe just top 4, obviously risky to go for it, but if you get a great (and i mean great) offer for Harden and he wants out...

I agree that they are extremely low on assets but they don’t need assets if they plan on having Harden for the next two seasons. Right now the Rockets should be doing everything they can to improve the roster to convince Harden to stay. Instead they are making the roster worse and picking up worthless draft picks. We’re screwed.

So 2021 is top 4 protected.

The way the system is set up is that the worst team would have a 58% of keeping their pick in a top 4 situation. You cannot be so bad and lose your pick. It's devastating and would probably destroy this franchise or force Tilman to sell. Stone isn't going to let that happen.

If Tilman trades Harden, he will destroy this team. We moved cp3s unmovable contract so anything is possible. Got to hold on to a generational talent like Harden as long as you can.

Remember that Harden wanted Russ here. Who knows maybe Harden wants out a season earlier if we kept him with cp3
