I would choose Kira Lewis Jr with the 16th pick, if Houston is planning to retain it. My preference would be to package WB and the 16th for Ben Simmons ( if he is fit) and Al Horford. It's gonna be hard to pull that off, I admit.
Im glad Tillman didn't make the Bucks moves. They traded an insane amount for a borderline all star. Giannis is still bouncing next year.
It’s a fantastic trade if one of two options is in the table. 1) Using Arizas expiring contract to get someone like IBaka or Wood on a higher multi year deal. The valid threat of leaving will force Detroit and Toronto’s hand and they’d rather take on an expiring contract (can’t imagine raptors want to take on salary when they want 2021 FA) and second round options than nothing. This is a path to contention 2) Using Arizas contract for a continued rebuild. We can offload the expiring for another bad contract from a middling team for extra draft picks. Something like Joseph and compensation from the Kings. This is a path to rebuild. We currently have two late first round picks in a loaded draft next year. If we rebuild tank and get lucky can have some awesome 5 star prospects with next years class. Some guys to keep an eye out in this years range of the draft include Jalen Green (Legit defender lob threat and 3 point shot) or Aleksej (potentially the next unicorn) This trade is a loss if 1) Ariza is meant to placate Harden. Not sure if Arizas game and on ball defense is better than RoCos rim protector status. Trade is a wash 2) Tillman makes stone cut Arizas salary for cost savings. Trade is a loss
