thats dumb. james is not what they need. their backcourt is probably the best in the league. all they need is someone up front to go against AD and they will have a good chance at the title
This is an interesting trade - it could easily be meant to get a Harden-guy in the locker room and get an asset another team is more inclined to accept for a bigger trade. But odds are we’re blowing it up. Ironic that we finally are doing what Morey wanted to do all this years ago, right after he left.
Since Tucker is gone, who’s going to defend? We just traded a guy who would’ve helped with a rebuild, show the rookies the ropes. The more I think about it, the more pissed off I get.
I agree. It's a rubbish trade. If they added another player like Rodney Hood and/or Nurkic then it's a half decent trade. Pick 16 hasn't been good even in deep drafts like 2003. This trade is great for the Blazers.
I don't trust dumpster fires. They are trading away disgruntled players in their prime. I think the problem is that Tillman doesn't want to spend and is also a micromanager. A bad combination I would've run it back. You don't need to trade these guys under contract. Let's Silas work his magic
Getting a first round pick this year along with nabing Simmons and picks hopefully means we won't be in a few years but the problem is is the picks from the Sixers are going to be low picks because no way Harden and Embid is going to get you a lottery pick. We are ****ed if we trade with the Nets though. As we aren't getting any young potential superstar in return and any Net draft picks will be low also.
Simmons alone is good enough for a rebuilding piece. Or if he is too old and wants to contend already we can flip him AD-style.
None of us want to admit it, but Harden might be the Dominique Wilkins of this era. All stats zero rings.
Eh. Even though Harden never won a ring he led far more successful teams with deeper runs in the playoffs than Wilkins.
So now that we got Ariza and lost our Artest, who's going to be our Kevin Martin and who are going to lose for him?
