It is hilarious watching people flip on Harden just like that.

If it wasn't for Harden, the Houston Rockets would be a completely and utterly irrelevant franchise. Year after year after year he put the team on his back and carried them up a mountain. The one year he had a healthy and locked in superstar next to him, he nearly toppled the greatest basketball team ever put together.

    The coach left.

    The GM left.

The guy he just forced a trade for wants to get out.

The franchise cornerstone, and second best player in franchise history wants to get out.

I didn't think it would be possible to go from buying to burning a franchise to nothing but ashes in the space of three years, but full credit to Tilman here we are.

AND FOR THE LAST F*CKING TIME. MOREY. DID. NOT. GUT. THE. TEAM'S. FUTURE. FOR. WESTBROOK. THAT. WAS. TILMAN. FERTITTA.

It is unbelievable there are people who do not understand this, to this day.

Let’s hope yannis signs the super max with the bucks so Miami and Toronto which had planned to go after him concentrate their collective assets on Harden and make it a bidding war. Harden had Miami on his list earlier

Nah, not if the rumors of him trying to bully his way to a team that can’t give us full value is true.

Did anyone read todays story by usually rockets mouthpiece* jonathan feigen, it's got some crazy quotes in it.

    I'll highlight the important passages;
I don't know which is crazier, harden only wanting to go to the nets (assuming this is accurate) or him thinking the rockets should just take whatever the nets can offer .

what’s actually crazy is this quote from Shams

“As far as the Sixers are concerned, unless they’re putting in Ben Simmons, which I’m told they’re not inclined to do right now, I don’t see a deal structure that makes sense for Philly outside of a guy like Ben Simmons.”

if Philly isn’t even putting Simmons or Embiid in trade offers, than that garbage BK offer is actually better than whatever else Philly has to offer

1st we hear that Harden would like Philly or BK from Shams. Now it’s only BK or stay with a dumpster fire here in Houston?

Yeah I somehow skilled that part, but was already aware of it from earlier in the day when shams reported that.

That didn't really surprised me as I predicted that would happen yesterday in one of these threads. Morey is unlikely to show all his cards in starting negotiations. Furthermore the sixers aren't really competing with much in light of what the nets are offering.

Rockets desperately need to start leaking some good* potential offers for harden from other teams to leverage against Morey.

I wonder where a team like Boston is in all of this although knowing Ainge, his ass is probably offering Kemba, Smart, more salary filler if needed, and a few picks

Philly not including Simmons is just insulting

At this point it's in our best interest to lose games, so Harden and Westbrook can't really threaten us.

If he wants to go to Brooklyn then fine, but it's on Brooklyn to find 3rd teams to make it worth our while, not that pupu platter of role players and late 1st round picks. If some other team wants to take a risk on and unwilling Harden then that's fine too.

Well you won’t have to worry about that since the Rockets won’t be playing many elimination games In the future unless it is game 60 and the rockets are eliminated from playoff contention.

It's a negotiations tactic imo and when it comes down to it, simmons will be included. Now the question of thybulle, jrich and 1st round picks is the question.

Initially I thought the rockets could get jrich and all the picks, but listening zach lowe podcast tonight I'm not too sure. Lowe stated he'd only offer Simmons and maybe a 2nd rounder. Which seem ridiculous at first but unless the rockets find other competing offers...

I don’t care if we trade his ass to Cleveland if they offer the best picks/package. Don’t bend over to his wishes. We owe him nothing.

Like....either someone is really CAPPING hard about this quote. Or Harden is just a HUGE HUGE idiot. Who would actually say that? Especially when you have a no trade clause. That is ridiculous.

I would’ve been more pissed had Harden accepted it. What a desperate attempt at relevance. I’d trade him to a place he doesn’t want to go.

I almost fell off my chair reading that lol. If it wasn't reported by feigen, I'd have brushed it off as bs.

As for the only wanting the nets parts, while surprising, it doesn't really bother me much. With two years of team control, harden has little leverage in terms of dictating teams to which he'll be trade to. Teams who are interested in his services won't be scared that they aren't on his list, knowing they'll nhave two seasons tof his prime and two seasons to change his mind.

Suuureee that’s exactly what players are thinking - do what’s best for a billion dollar organization and...wait for it.....the fans. Lol.

(Harden as he weighs his decision) Let me act in the best interest and honor those special fans that log onto clutchfans to vent and dictate what I should with my money/contract/career. Delusional
