I don’t trust what this organization says Even if u do decide to run it back, which free agents are gonna be eager to come join this fckery? Russ doesn’t want to be here, and Harden is clearly entertaining a change of scenery. This upcoming season will be marred with trade speculation for both of them.
The fringe media is tossing blood in the water, so naturally the media sharks are circling. They love the idea of a huge trade suddenly making a gigantic media market, which is New York, AKA Brooklyn, getting James Harden, which immediately makes them incredibly relevant. So the very idea makes them all excited. Why should we care? I don't. They aren't making this noise for our benefit. The NBA media has made plain often enough that they don't think a hell of a lot of Houston and the Rockets. They want to use us to pump up their bicycle tires. The catch is that they want to run us over in the process. So they can bite themselves, for all I care.
Standards in sports journalism have gone out the window in the digital age. Gone are the days of verifying stories and reporting facts, and they have been replaced by “reporters” that spread unsubstantiated rumors in a race to be the first person to have the next big story and generate more clicks, likes and views. Case in point: The Clippers’ SI reporter that started this rumor tweeted Harden to the Nets was pretty much a done deal. Adrian Wojnarowski responds by tweeting that the Rockets are not talking about a Harden trade with the Nets, and the SI reporter later tweets he’s not sure if the Rockets are discussing a Harden trade with the Nets. If his employer actually cared about ethical standards in journalism, the reporter should be fired.
It’s too bad James Harden and Russell Westbrook have two years remaining on their contracts, and they would each have to reject a $47-million player option for the 2022-2023 season, when they will be 33 years old (Westbrook turns 34 during that season). The Rockets don’t have to do anything right now.
If we trade Harden for that pu pu platter from the Nets i am officially handing in my Rockets fan membership card. Minimum requirement should be a top 2 pick or an star caliber player like Ben Simmons.
Best case scenario with this lineup is if the opponent misses 2 fourth quarter FTs and we get a couple of jack in the box tacos.
If Tilman refuses to deal with the 76ers for Ben Simmons simply because he is salty about Morey leaving, then he really is the worst owner in the league. The assets other teams offer won't be anywhere close to as good as Simmons, Thybulle and future 1sts.
Stone needs to get his ass in gear, the Rockets are being shredded by national media on his watch. Make a move or fix your player issues yesterday. Patrick is watching and has Shane Battier on speed dial.
That is the Trumpian world we live in now. Repeating lies or fantasy ad nauseum for mass consumption is common place now. But lies are still lies.
It would be very Houston to trade Harden for pennies on the dollar. Tilman attempting to one-up what BOB did would be pretty stupid. I love Harden, but you don't have to get screwed to move him if the Rockets decide to head that route.
