Time to move on. We should never have gone there in the first place. How was that not obvious? All we are doing is wasting money. Whether we had pulled out in 2005, 2015 or whether we pull out tomorrow or in 2025 the result is going to be the same.

You can try and do the Vietnam thing, pull out Americans and pretend like the ARVN would be able to take over but the result will be the same within 3 years the Taliban/Al-Qaeda will be in control. All that will do will modestly delay the inevitable and waste more money.

Let them have it. If you need to you can always utilize drones/the air force/special forces to conduct operations in that theater. The days of the U.S./NATO permanent military mission there should be done.
