I’m not disagreeing (except for the at worst be a solid starting Center. At worst he could be a below average starter) Just a month ago was the talks being like he could command big money which I began to believe until I told myself “what the hell do I know about Christian Wood”
Bobby Marks has steadily said he will command MLE money. He’s about as tuned in on the market as anyone. I thought he would get overpaid but seems that’s his market. 10 M is worth it for a risk that he’s below average if the upside is third star. Costs slightly more than a high lottery pick’s salary.
I respect you very much. hoopsrumors.com has a page stating that the Rockets waived Hartenstein to officially sign Nwaba dated June 23th, 2020. Of course, Morey was the GM. I did read Stone had a part in his signing. I will send you that information as soon as I find it.
Nwaba would have been grabbed elsewhere. Hartenstein is still a FA and MDA refused to play him. Honestly **** MDA, his trash rotations caused us a lot of issues that are still lingering.
I did see promise in Hartenstein, but he was unable to cope with the speed of the NBA. We definitely needed a big, after the Clint/ Ro-Co trade. Nothing was done to address that.
Bruno should have been thrown into the fire. What he showed two seasons ago in Memphis is more than what we needed, he was a legit rotational player before Brandon Clarke supplanted him.
Now we are talking. https://tradenba.com/trade-machine CHA: Russ Westbrook, Danuel House ORL: Eric Gordon, Devonte Graham, Jalen McDaniels + Hornets 3rd pick overall PHI: Buddy Hield, Terry Rozier + Magic 15th pick overall SAC: Josh Richardson, Cody Zeller + 76ers FRP HOU: Ben Simmons, Aaron Gordon, Matisse Thybulle, Mo Bamba 6'5 Harden/6'3 McLemore 6'5 Thybulle/6'5 Nwaba 6'7 RoCo/6'5 Tucker 6'8 AG/6'9 Bruno (vet min) 6'10 Simmons/7'0 Bamba Rockets save almost 2M and still have MLE. Every starter can get to rim and finish. Defense leans into switch everything by placing disruptors at every position on starting 5. Defensive rotation is stellar (9 of 10 have 7'0 wingspan or greater) and corner 3 shooting also improved overall. This team is LONGER, younger, deeper, more athletic, more disruptive and will RUN.
Honestly. Thin line between calling out our front office stupidity and acting like not playing Bruno or IH was where we went wrong
Read what I said before you respond like a jerk. He was supplanted by Brandon Clarke (who is a future star role player) and he was going to walk for nothing. Morey gave them a second rounder too. His good stretch was in 18-19 not 19-20. I’ve watched more Bruno than anyone on this forum. I’m glad you can all just mock him without having a clue. He showed he was a capable player when he moved from a small forward to a center. He was out of position. Morey tried for a year to get him back. This place worships Morey so I guess he has trash views on just Bruno?
I felt that Morey was overrated . I feel Bruno’s main problem is his inability to handle physical contact. The only thing that I like about him is his ability to hit the 3. He loses confidence quickly in my opinion. That’s why I’m not keen on retaining him. I don’t think he could have made a difference in the playoffs.
Literally Thabo Sefolosha is still a better basketball player than Bruno Cabaclo. Cabaclo’s overall awareness and basketball intelligence on both ends is massively deficient. Bird brained... Real playing time on a contender in 2020? GTFO.
https://tradenba.com/trades/bd_2vIDRX Use the Exception to do a SNT for Christian Wood with a future 2nd attached. Tate + Bruno Jrue Eric / Ben RoCo / Nwaba / Tate Harden / House Wood/PJ / Bruno we would have about $14 million to play around with to fill the roster under the hard cap if Wood is signed for 4/48 prior to signing Bruno and Tate to deal worth about $3 Million combined. so $11 remaining.
