I don’t anticipate any trades from Houston, but it would be nice, if TF could buy a low second rounder, if some decent player is unexpectedly available. Stone was responsible for acquiring Nwaba for IH. I didn’t like it, because he is injured. It would be nice if he can acquire a useful player.
This is tough because we have to see what we’re gonna do with WB, which will likely happen in FA once teams like NYK/Hornets/Pistons officially have cap space. Might need that cash in a major trade.
I didn’t know Stone was responsible for that move. Maybe that’s why WB and Harden were upset about Stone being promoted to GM. Maybe the stars thought that IH would’ve been useful in the playoffs.
More of a depth chart I guess, you can throw a ton of combos out with this much variety on the roster. I think you have to take Randle and Payton in any scenario with the Knicks for salary reasons. And since I'm asking for #8 I don't think they will hand over Barrett or Robinson too who I imagine they probably see as a fit with Westbrook. Ntilikina instead of Knox doesn't bother me but then you are definitely gunning for a big with #8 or f/a money. Even if he is, I think everyone knows he can't play 40+ minutes a game and expect to win. Secondly, I expect PJ Tucker to play zero minutes at center next season.
Maybe, but IH was already on the way out. He was struggling mightily. I was angry at Morey for picking up a badly injured player on a 2 yr contract. I only found that Stone made this suggestion to Morey after he became the new GM.
TF is the biggest troublemaker. I doubt if he will dip into the MLE, in order to give the team a chance to acquire Noel. He is more skilled than Capela, despite being lighter than him. Noel's IQ is good and he isn't afraid of contact, unlike Bruno.
The good news is (iirc) this is all under the tax line. Insert Noel behind Randle instead of Gasol. I think you could get both if they would both agree to those numbers using the MLE to go into tax without being penalized right? Unlikely but anyone daring realism in their takes knows the Rockets aren't spending luxury tax. I tried lol
I want what’s best for Harden. I don’t believe Russ can net them anything right now, but it does sound near impossible to keep him. Which would mean Harden may have to be traded too. I was telling a friend how I would hate if Harden got traded to a garbage team in the East until I thought about the Hawks Hunter, Huerter, Reddish, Collins, this years #6 pick and future firsts? They don’t need to match salary I don’t think but also maybe throw in Dedmon and send PJ with Harden. I’m just thinking what’s best for Harden. Tillman ain’t giving him to Philly. Harden has another all star in Trae, familiarity with Clint, strip clubs in ATL. I like it! Atlanta starts competing but still have Trae and Clint, so not like their whole future is gone.
I want Russ to stay if his value is low. My hopes for this off-season start with pipe dreams at hard cap MLE in 1)Wood 2) Ibaka my next hope if that isn’t possible is Baynes at the Tax MLE I want Bruno resigned and I want JaeSean Tate. I want PJ extended for 2 years. Harden extended for his max which I believe adds 2 years. I want RoCo extended to his max which I think is 2 years. I want Harden moved to the four in the starting lineup and I want PJ as sixth man with House. I want Eric to have a more defined role and as a secondary playmaker for the second unit. Russ EGo / Ben Mc RoCO / Nwaba Harden/ House /Tate New Center/ PJ/Bruno I honestly think this is enough to compete and if it’s Wood at the five I think it’s the best team in the NBA.
I want a big three of Wall-Harden-Griffin. If Wall comes back in 2017-2018 form and Griffin plays like his first year in Detroit that would be a solid big three. Dump Westbrook, EG, House and don’t re-sign Rivers and Bruno.
wait what? we got CP3 three years ago, let Ariza walk for Carmelo the next year, and Russ last off-season. Every year it’s way too loud. I want to see the team fight through the adversity. Keep the core, add a big man and some depth.
I don't know about the best team in the NBA........but I a like a lot of those suggestions. Including the extensions of Harden & RoCo.
Detroit is probably right to be hesitant to pay Wood good money. He had less than a season of solid play on literally the most lacking roster in the league. Sure he’s showed signs of talent, so have plenty of big men in the past who bounced around a lot before having a decent 60 games. Whiteside
My goal is not to debate; please do not re-write history to fit some narrative. IH was cut for nothing going into the bubble. Nawab was already on the team. Morey was the GM the time. Sorry if I stepped on your toe, but it happened a few months ago so most remember it well. If I wrong about this please correct me.
Which is why the Rockets shouldn’t hesitate. They should be begging him to take the NTMLE and they should be more than willing to hard cap for it. He could at worst be a solid starting center and at best an allstar.
