Exactly my thinking. No one (credible) has reported what WB’s value is and judging by NBA Twitter he’s not worth more than Andrew Wiggins, which doesn’t make sense. Stone was key in the CP3 trade from the Clips, and all these years learning from Morey should’ve taught him things. Especially as a first move as a GM, he’s only going to take a deal that’s an obvious win, or with a plan behind it. It’s not Bill O’Brien, he’s not going to trade for just cap space, he has to get a young player + a lotto + cap for next offseason for it to be an obvious win.

So, our only trade partners are teams willing to do a deal that is an obvious loss?

    I agree.

He negotiated the sell of the Rockets. He’s an absolutely shrewd negotiator. Not a chance in hell he deals with the Knicks by dumping Westbrook for trash to a trash team, unless it’s a directive to dump salary which would signal the end of Harden as well. The Knicks are the worst team in the NBA. You’re going to tell me they should be given a star for nothing? Russ would be the best player to wear a Knick uniform since Patrick Ewing.

    both teams can win

Frank , pick 8 and Mitchell Robinson is a win win. Even if Knicks fans cry, Russ is a top talent who fits Thibs mold. He will be an all star and probably an MVP candidate in NY and we will all miss him. He puts up the exact numbers from last year in NY, they’ll build him a statue at MSG.

didnt russ make all-nba 3rd team this year. How can his value be low across the league, unless sources are lying to try and screw houston over. CP3's value was low last year, now the thunder are supposedly about to get a lotto pick, rubio and oubre for him. ariza netted the suns oubre as well. It seems players not only become loved more, but their value increases as soon as they leave houston. I bet if we trade russ to the knicks. and the knicks wanted to trade westbrook the knicks will probbaly get way more in trade than what we got for him. Thats just houston sports.

I am trying to see this from a NY point of view. They would taking on $132M in salary for a 32 year old who cant shoot long range, cant make free throws (53% in playoffs) and was hobbled the last he played with an injury?

Sure, if he is healthy, he will put up the numbers, attract needed media attention, sell tickets and win individual awards. But you will never win a championship if he is your best player and he will demand the ball and make you build the offense around him for him to be effective.

He is a top talent. But whatever team he is on will never be a top team.

Yeah I agree the rockets can't act desperate to unload Westbrook. They will probably not get equal value for him because of his contract. His contract scares teams away with his age. It maybe unmovable.

Rockets are going to have to roll with harden and Russ for 3 more years, it's just how it is. Not a bad thing if they can sign some good centers on what money they have.

They think because Fat Elvis is not here that they can stiff us....ha good luck with that. Tilman is so cheap he squeaks when he walks. He is going to want something he can sell tickets with. A solid product. He is cheap not stupid. Anyway this is just wishful thinking by these other teams.

how is westbrooks contract unmovable when cp3 right now is 36 years old and the suns are trying to offer up rubio, a lotto pick and oubre for him. If Westbrick was on any other team except houston his trade value wouldnt be a problem at all. The media does not like houston, so take what you hear from them with a grain of salt

So it is probably better to keep him for the moment.

no I absolutely want westbrook gone. Just not for ten cents on the dollar. Robinson and that lotto pick( which we could trade or use on Killian Hayes) has to be included

Frank Ntilikina is younger and better.

6'4 with 7'1 wingspan and does not matter if its Harden, Steph, Donovan or Kyrie - he will lock them down.
