Mitchell Robinson is one of Knicks building blocks. Even though he does not complement Westbrook's game, do not hold your breath IMO. Might be able to pry away Ntilikina or Dennis Smith however, Westbrook plays same position and they have multiple young PG in NY.
I just thought of something. Maybe part of the reason Russ wants to leave is us, the hometown fans. Compared to the idol worship he experienced on OKC where he could do no wrong, we openly criticise and even hate on him. And if any of that is true all I can say is: GOOD JOB GUYS WE DID IT!
LOL This is complete BULLSHIT. Money does not even match and cannot trade 2023 first round pick. Fvck off Scoop!
Building blocks? .318 record. Russ is better than every player on their team combined. Get out of here with this undervaluing our assets. IF they won't give up Mitch then don't trade Russ there.
Agreed. I wonder what clutch fans think westbrook's value is, considering I see wildly different trade ideas. I'm probably on the lower end as I think he's only a fairly positive trade asset. Imo Westbrook is a very good player, but his age, style of play, fit, and contract are all substantial negatives in finding a trade partner. All of which leads me to believe Westbrook will be a rocket to start the season. And unless the team is terrible or some other major problems occur will probably finish the season as a rocket.
I'm not the one undervaluing Rockets assets only presenting some logic. Like Rockets will protect RoCo, there are certain players that Knicks will protect. I'm not the enemy here.
If he's traded to the Knicks and we don't get Mitchell Robinson, I'll admit I was wrong. I'm sticking with this. worst case is DSJ + Mitchell Robinson + Randle or Ellington best case is Knox + Mitch + Frank + #8 most reasonable is Mitch + Frank + #8
I actually am on the high end of Westbrook's value because there are not many NBA players that will get a team 27+ points and a near triple double every night. And Russ is still a big draw due to his electric play style and brand. But I also understand that there will be limits on what we can receive in return depending on each team.
The Knicks want to add Westbrook to contend... they will likely keep Robinson and Randall. The Rockets would get non guaranteed contracts and someone like Frank or Knox and the Knicks #8 pick. Saves Tilman a lot of money and the Rockets can use cap space and #8 pick to address needs.
I 100% wouldn't trade Russ to the Knicks without Mitch coming back. It's that simple. I would rather see Russ stay. John Lucas and Mitchell Robinson have a relationship although I can't find a source to that.
What would you guys prefer: Keep the #8 and draft someone or tag it with Gordon for a better player/asset?
It's typical low balling. If the Knicks want Russ they should give us Frank and the 8th. Otherwise, it's bye bye as far as I'm concerned.
Whoever the #8 pick is he won’t make us a championship contender THIS year and that’s gonna be pretty important if we wanna keep James happy...
I would do this trade in a heartbeat, but under these conditions: ORL: Julius Randle, Dennis Smith, swap their 15th pick for Knicks 8th NYK: Russ Westbrook, Danuel House HOU: Aaron Gordon, Bobby Portis, Mo Bamba, Frank Ntilikina + Knicks FRP (from Mavs) ***Every team gets what they want** 6'5 Harden/6'4 Ntilikina 6'3 EGo/6'3 McLemore 6'7 RoCo/6'5 Nwaba 6'8 AG/6'5 Tucker 6'10 Portis/7'0 Bamba Rockets still have MLE and 2020 FRP (trade or use).
Man I don't know about "every team gets what they want" lol The Magic are clearly getting a crap return back.
