It’s crazy how low it appears Russ’ trade value is. This guy was All NBA.....THIS YEAR. I really really hope our front office remind themselves that his disastrous playoff performance was a system thing, and in a different situation he’d have the ball in his hands more so and wouldn’t get exposed as much. And not let the narratives get to our heads. I am very concerned with how our team are going to handle this. For example in a Clippers scenario no way am I including the pick and Roco for just PG13. I understand Clippers probably wouldn’t do a straight up swap but so be it. For Knicks, if I’m not getting #8 and Mitchell it’s a no for me. Again, they also say no but you have to stand your ground. Hornets, Rozier and 3rd pick and big man. The trades just aren’t out there for both teams to say yes, one side is going to get screwed, and my confidence is very low that it will be the other side. Mostly for Harden who deserves to maximize his next two to three years but doesn’t look like that’ll happen.
I don’t think the Clippers would give up Zubac but they would need to send some significant salary, either Beverley or Lou Will. The former would be great, Lou Will could easily be shipped to a 3rd team I think. Then you would clear 10m in salary and have access to that TPE and mini MLE, or go full MLE and BAE
no it’s that package for Kawhi. Undo the worst mistake Morey ever made in one trade. Maybe get Morris back too and have the guy we took over Kawhi
It's been said time and again that PG is the one that wants Russ on LAC. PG is the one recruiting him. So just stop with the PG for Russ nonsense. If it wasn't for PG, a smart FO like the Clippers would want nothing to do with Westbrook.
This is how i feel too, the problem is George is expiring so, there's a good chance he's just a rental which is something i'm not exactly in love with, especially if the cost for that is Covington + 1st, that's kinda insane value to lose in this scenario. Than again, i don't know if Tilman already knows in one year Harden would be gone and this could be a good way to get out or Russ contract. George could still opt in and get traded on a contender once expired though, or sign & traded like Durant to Brooklyn (Warriors got Russell back).
Chris Paul also wanted Russ on the Rockets and Harden wanted Butler with CP3 on the Rockets, at least if you believe that. Rumors are also saying Clippers players don't like George, and while i do agree that West isn't dumb, he has no assets left, just like us so, if he wants a point guard (like rumors are suggesting), he has to settle for a MLE guy or a star over his prime like CP3, Russ etc.
Sounds like they're trading the Clippers players bro. I wouldn't be surprised if after the dust settles, Kawhi and PG are the only key players from last year's team left. When they said they were going for Russ they didn't mean an actual competitive offer. It was a Morey style "throw garbage around till someone bites" offer. By all accounts PG being in Russ' ear is what started this whole mess.
Would getting Chicago involved help this trade a bit? Sending Beverly to Chicago, and maybe few of are players could help Bulls out. Houston could actually get good haul for him this way.

PG is not worth that package. If Russ is traded to the Clippers I GUARANTEE that PG is still there. It’s going to be for role players in a straight up Russ deal or for Kawhi with us sending RoCo. Just remember this if a trade happens. I’m absolutely certain these are the parameters. If Kawhi wants out that’s as good as they could do. He’s a FA next year. Russ would ensure that PG would stay long term and RoCo is there for 2 years. Rockets go all in with the idea that this is the last chance.
I mean, i wouldn't disagree with what you're saying here, it's actually why i can see this rumor being true, West trying to force the Rockets to bend over. Was just saying that there were also a lot of reports about Clippers players not being in happy with PG (expiring) and Kawhi asking for a point guard, so, whatever PG wants, it might not matter for the Clippers, just like what Russ wants here, doesn't really matter.
