I have a really good feeling. I haven't felt this way since we first traded for James that something is finally going to go our way. It's weird, when things get the lowest, I tend to feel the most confidence with this team.
There is a path to a contender level team if Tillman is forced to go into the tax. IMO now would be the best time to since his franchise is at its Lowest and tax hits will be reimbursed by any drop in revenue this year. If Tillman is willing to pay tax then the most the team will realistically spend is 138 million aka the hard cap. Currently we are 7 million from hitting it. If you deduct rivers 2 million we are 9 million from hitting. We could realistically use Gordon’s salary to bring in Ibaka on a multi year 10 million dollar and wood (or any agent worthy of ntmle money) and still have wiggle room to fill out the backcourt. A path to WB/Tyler Johnson/Clemons Harden/holiday/mclemore RoCo/house/nwaba Wood/tucker Ibaka/green/caboclo exist
Or if Rockets do not get a great deal for Russ, just keep him AND for Pete's sake sign Ibaka. Ibaka allows Rockets to continue playing 5 out WITH a traditional center that is also a 3ball threat. Russ/McLemore Harden/EGo MLE/Nwaba RoCo/PJ Ibaka/Bruno (vet min) And trade House's ass just on principle.
