Let's talk about the worst case scenario. There's no dispute that Morey wants Harden. If Simmons is healthy, then get him, Thybulle/ Horford (as a filler) and their 2021 first rounder ( top 10 protected). Add Clemons if needed. Harden is far better than anyone in this draft, therefore acquiring the top pick is of no use.

The Clippers might not mind Russ/ Tuck in exchange for Lou, Bev, Trez. The Rockets still can retain their 2021, and 2022 1st round picks. House has to be attached to EGO plus a 2nd rounder to some team looking to make the playoffs. This potential trade partner in exchange for cap space should have a low chance of getting any FA's. This will be the hardest thing to pull off. Ro-Co should be retained until the new trade deadline. Your fertile imagination might come up with better ideas than mine, including the correct utilization of the salary cap.

Well, the trading of Harden was only if Harden was upset with a Westbrook trade. Indications are that Harden wants
to continue playing in Houston under a subtle rebuild. You know, bring the personnel to run PnR for Silas scheme.
This means adding a center to run screens......weed out some of the 6’3” bodies in exchange for proper or better
screeners. Without a drastic overhaul rebuild.

Rockets lose leverage in Westbrook announcing he wants out, but the Rockets get a blessing in disguise I feel.
Westbrook lack of 3-point shooting clogs the paint for anything Silas wants to do. Now the team can get some
breathing room financially to get the center Silas wants more or less. He doesn’t have to look to trade House
contract for remedial center contract. Or Eric Gordon trade for center in return. They can upgrade to better
material at center if they want. Gives the Rockets options.

Say what we want about Westbrook he was chosen 3rd team all NBA and can still ball as the tip of the spear
in an offensive attack. He doesn’t need to be a 3-point shooter necessarily. Knicks should still love the idea
of bringing in Westbrook. Westbrook by himself should get them into the playoffs. Then that attracts another
star. First LeBron went to L.A. then AD followed. Westbrook.....New York.....another Star will follow. PG-13
    will vouch for Russ.

Knicks do have have draft picks. I would trade Westbrook to 76ers......but I don’t think Morey would take him.

Internet Joke about Clippers is they gave up more draft picks for Paul George than he had FG’s in their most
recent game 7. Clippers have no draft picks. I like Harrell despite no 3-pt shooting ability. Setting screens,
diving to the rim.......Capela role, I’m fine with (if he becomes the only non 3-pt shooter on the team).. I believe
he is an unrestricted free agent though. I know he rolled his eyes in the huddle when PG-13 was giving his,
“Let’s come back next year, stronger, better and wiser” speech at the end of game 7. So I don’t think Harrell
cared too much for the Clippers pecking order.

I wonder how you feel about Zubac in a Silas system?

Draft picks are tricky with all their swap here or swap that, if this pick is lower that that picks then the team cam choose
option a or option b. I will let management sort through the teams that are rich or poor in that category.
I would love to get Bamba or Mitchell Robinson out of the deal. Not sure Orlando has picks though.

I do hold some hope that Harden will stay if we get a good return for Russ. Russ did help Harden out to some extent with his pace. James doesn't want to play PG full time. I will take Zubac as part of a Russ trade. Will Harden settle for Lou? I think it's possible since he can shoot the ball. I also want to add Noel too.

I think Tillman is worried about ticket sales, but honestly this is the best year to make the move to restart the franchise with Covid likely still largely limiting audience attendance. You know Philly will do a Simmons for Harden swap.... do it.

Then you take your time to get Westbrook out in a deal that doesn't further strip away assets. If we have to go into the season with a disgruntled Westbrook, and Ben Simmons... fine. That team will be a mess on the court, but could be an interesting watch if you have low expectations.

I would also try and move Covington if you can recoup a first rounder. I like RoCo but if he's not on a contending team, I don't know if he's that valuable. In Minnesota he wasn't putting up 20/10 or anything.

So basically... blow it up. Let Eric Gordon be your Kevin Martin where he makes the games competitive in the 1st - 3rd quarters so the games are interesting. If Russ has to be here to keep our assets, fine. He doesn't bother me if the team is already not trying to win a title.

I do NOT want to give up draft picks though... NONE. Im sick of this team never having any sort of young talent to look forward to.

B/R claim Harden is on board or hints of acceptance of a Westbrook trade.

So the question is how much does Silas/Stone invest for our center position? Quality of Center? Ibaka fits all categories
for me. Mitchell Robinson/Mo Bamba have amazing salary for what Silas needs.....want I don’t know?

Yes, Harden scored 36 points per game with Capela PnR in 18/19.......Westbrook was the greatest efficiency when
Capela was traded. Eliminating the Center showed Westbrook the error of his ways. Steven Adams and Capela
were holding him back. Any play Silas designs has the Westbrook defender sitting in the paint messing things up.

So I knew Westbrook would not be on board with any coach other that John Lucas. But Westbrook accepts another
coach on another team as long as he gets to be the point of attack......not spot up shooter providing space for Harden.

I like Noel at PF.....move to small ball center when needed.
I like Harry Giles as PF....move to small ball center when needed.
I like Ibaka as PF.....move to center in small ball center when needed.
Montrez as PF if we have a center that shoots 3’s......moved to small ball center when needed.
Aaron Gordon as PF.........moved to small ball center when needed.
Ben Simmons as PF or Center full time.
I like Myles Turner at center.......but I would like a PF that I can move to center in small ball cases. He didn’t fair well vs Heat.
Mitchell Robinson as center.......another PF to move to small ball center.
    Mo Bamba as center.

In all cases Tucker needs to concentrate on being PF and SF.

Westbrook trade should open up extension for Tucker......making him happy.

    cont’d from post #267

    @saleem

Sorry got distracted. Allow me to finish a thought or two.

Harden had 36 points a game with Capela in 18/19......dropped to 34 points a game last season, probably allowing Westbrook to fit in. Sharing scoring duties. I believe Harden could average 40 points a game as a predominantly
iso threat......but will spread the wealth in a Silas system. Being slightly less efficient.
    ______________________________

I think consensus likes Bobby Portis here. I would like Portis back in a Westbrook trade, if possible.
PF......able to move to Center in small ball play.

I feel a Westbrook trade will be to a team near $100 million dollar team payroll that can absorb much of the Westbrook
contract. The return may not be as good as people want; but it’s about cutting some Rockets team payroll, getting
a center and or PF, replacement point guard. So then we can give Tucker an extension and go after someone
in free agency, or two players.

Possibly Aron Baynes......if nothing drive up the price of Baynes for the Lakers.
    PG) LeBron
    SG) Avery Bradley
    SF) Danny Green
    PF) AD
    C) Baynes (can stay on the court because he can shoot 3’s....and well his help defenders are AD/LeBron/DGreen/Avery)

Hard to believe any team beating them.....plus upgrade in backups.

Sorry, but that is just pure childish. "Oh, I am mad at you so I am not going to answer your phone calls". Sounds like some 7th grade reaction to Mommy not letting you stay out after 10:00pm.

The absolute correct analysis of the current state of the Houston Rockets. It is that succinct.

This post needs to be *stickied* somewhere. The facts. And Nook has to repost this time and time again because people keep missing it.

    Welcome.

What you write is very believable to me.

I really appreciate the info about Harden and Silas.

more than anything people refuse to believe it. Especially with the uptake of casuals around here. they force themselves to believe other garbage such as brabra and co. They love their own conspiracy theories and sauces. If it doesn't fit their own made up narrative, it isn't true

If Morey wanted to be here right now he would be.
If MDA wanted to be here right now he would be.

That should be enough to tell everyone one that the house is on fire right now.

Im usually pretty optimistic when it comes to the Rockets, but it really feels like a dumpster fire right now.

I'm hoping Silas can come in and be the pillar of leadership that this franchise desperately needs.

Stone needs to make a great deal here, too...

"Harden was fine with Paul" o_O

You can sticky that anywhere you want, doesn't make it true... Did you see his face when CP3 couldn't dribble around Andrew Bogut?

Similar, but Paul was completely healthy. Just had butthole scars from his boy Melo getting cut.
