I agree with most of what you said but I will say there are reasons to prefer getting fired vs quitting. For one, there are unemployment benefits, which she might not take advantage of but there is also the case where there is a contract. If she is in a contract and leaves, she gets nothing. If she gets fired, depending on how the contract is written, she gets a portion (or all) of the remaining money left. And I think she has enough friends in the media that there would be opportunity there if she wants. So you're the guy who was in love with Tony Elliot. I couldn't remember who it was but you did it so well that you just about sold me on it LOL. Why is Tony listed as running backs coach? Their website lists a Brandon Streeter as the QB coach. Is that a recent change?
Ummmmm... do you watch games? He barely plays this year. Randall Cobb is above him on the depth chart (yes I know some has to do with slot vs outside, etc.) He's just a headache at this point.
"black media" lol. You found one guy who says she was a racist, and he must represent black media huh? What about "black players"? More black media
That's like me saying you hate Scooby Doo because of his speech impediment. I dont know you like that, bro.
Years ago, I entertained the notion of jumping into sports PR and was dissuaded because they don't pay office people jack or ****. They pay players; they pay coaches; they pay general managers - the rank & file are borderline hourly as a consequence. I'm sure she did fine, financially - but I promise you, she did not have a contract (& being fired, as opposed to laid off, would violate it if she did, right?) and her unemployment benefits likely wouldn't cover the cost of Cobra. Now! Having said that, iirc, aren't you HR-related?... Someone here is, so I'd defer on all that. But I've been unemployed and... it sucks. That would be a significant pay cut. Yep! He was co-offensive coordinator during Watson's era and said to be the passing guru. I don't follow college football or Clemson, so I could be way wrong. But I don't believe Streeter was the other OC when Watson was there. My first choice is still David Shaw.
You might be right. My post was pure speculation and a little bit of 20/20 hindsight. A lot more people know her (and probably love her) now than they did a week ago. It definitely would have been better PR (lol I know) for the Texans if they announced she quit rather than they fired her. At this point I just want someone who is willing to bring in accomplished or intelligent coordinators. That's why I lean towards the older guys who have less to prove.
I've met and worked with Amy and do NOT remember her being *that* tall, or, really, tall at all. Julia - whom I've also met (look at me) - is... also not tall? Like,... 5'7"? Anyway, point is... Lina Hidalgo is TINY.
I think she(Amy) is like 5'5 to 5'8. co-sign. Not sure who that fool is but as someone posted already, people of color in the media had no problem with Amy. She was as cool and professional as one would want to deal with. And I'll add this again, the Rockets would be lucky to have her leading their media relations/comms dept.
If this truly is because she congratulated the VP elect on her personal Twitter, then I hope this story explodes. Damn Easterby and Cal.
