One benchmark doesnt tell the whole story but it gives a general sense of performance level. Very impressive considering a14 is mobile chip vs desktop chips from amd/Intel. @peleincubus
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.macrumors.com/2020/11/11/m1-macbook-air-first-benchmark/amp/ is this impressive? I don’t really know. Everyone commenting seems to be blown away.
Amd 15w 8 core 7nm chip, 9.8bn transistors https://browser.geekbench.com/v5/cpu/4459117 Intel 12-28w 4 core https://browser.geekbench.com/v5/cpu/4661454 Apple says they have 16bn transistors on 5nm process. Wafer cost for tsmc 5nm wafer is double of 7nm. So Apple are spending more to fab a more performant mobile chip. Performance is impressive, but more important is how well applications can run. If it's like what we've seen on windows-arm, there will be an adjustment period. Native Photoshop on arm is a year or 2 away.
Apple has way more transistors to work with and a better process node and bigger budget. Not surprising they have a better chip. However if you put it in a fan-less MBA or poorly cooled MBP that think is going throttle down.
Yes agree with you, see post above I also think that if licensing and integration with mobile apps wasn't a concern, the apple silicon team (which has a lot of ex-Intel peeps) could also make a kick ass x86 if they put their resources to it.
NFLX is forming a triangle. on the heels of a steep drop from the multiple tops, it could be a triangle of death, as the 38% retracement from the Mar low is ~~~460
Will BABA continue to bleed? I think it'll be fine long-term but I kind of want to move that money into something with more immediate upside. I'm fine letting it sit, but watching it bleed out is no fun.
Depends on when ANT gets the green light for IPO, which is anyone's guess. I figure their business model is solid so there's only so far it can drop (hopefully I don't jinx myself =P) and also China's economy is humming along pretty well given the pandemic.

lol yeah.. I got in at $19ish with a couple hundred shares back in mid September. Loving it. I also was huge into LK around $10 and thank the lord I dumped it all at $40 because the **** show that came after was brutal
Yeah, you guys made out with NIO. Don't forget XPEV and LI. They're all rocketing. Congrats. I chickened out on all of them. lol.
You would presume that Nio would be precluded from something like LK. I've been to China and Beijing a few times I wouldn't be surprised at all if they are not doing something shady though somehow someway. The country is very interesting.
This one should pop at the open... Li Auto Inc. Announces Unaudited Third Quarter 2020 Financial Results https://www.globenewswire.com/news-...ted-Third-Quarter-2020-Financial-Results.html
Been looking at nio since $13 but never pulled the trigger would getting in here be chasing? Tried reading up a bit on these 3, but still don't know whether they deserve above tsla valuations, or which of the 3 will be the market leader, each have different strategies. I'll probably stay out and wait for a pull back that never comes. Congrats to those that got in early you clever bastards
