Democrats and the media are doing a really bad job of making the virus disappear like Trump predicted we would do on November 4th. I wouldn’t be surprised if Trump orders a shut down just to mess with Biden’s economy he’s going to inherit. It might be needed though because we are doing an amazingly terrible job at this as a society.

Like it was initially in early Spring, EU is doing worse than the US. When you have a pandemic, unless you can close your borders off and monitor every person traveling across your border, it takes every one of your neighbor to work together in containing it. I think once this is all over, we will learn that localized action within a nation doesn't work. It needs to be a whole nation. It also needs to be a whole region and even whole globe coordinated response if we are to contain it globally. I think we will get insights that outbreak CAN BE contained at a national, regional and even the global level. All of us probably would easily take a 3M hard shutdown around the globe to completely contain this virus. Of course that wasn't possible, but I think we can imagine a world where that might be possible in an outbreak in the year 3020. Where it is possible at a regional level in 2040. It's already possible at a national level today.
For Thanksgiving my family is the only family within our larger family not partaking in our traditional get together. All of my Trumper family members are going to gather in one 2500 square foot home.. no masks of course. All 30 of them... for 12 hours. This is why Covid is spreading like it is. Nobody is going to wear a mask inside the house of your family members when you are with them for the holidays. What sucks is if I had family that actually believed in the science, we could maybe all figure out a way to do a socially distant outside get together of sorts. But no... It's a hoax per FoxNews so here we are.
I know you know this, but some of them could get really, really ill, and possibly worse. If someone is shedding, a lot of them could get really ill. Here's what gets me on the political front: where the heck is Pence? We know Trump is only about his own ratings and will just be trying to overthrow the election and pouting for the next many weeks. That's obvious, I'd hope, even to his most devoted followers. But is there anything in the character of Mike Pence that gives two craps about all these Americans getting sick and dying? Is he not still the head of the "task (sic) force (sic)" or whatever? We've learned a lot about that guy, carrying Trump's tub full o' lies for years and now turning his back on his fellow citizens.
I think Pence is just thinking about GOP gamesmanship along with McConnell, and they are all going to do everything they can to make Biden's first term so miserable that he's beatable in 24 just like they tried with Biden. These people, the GOP, and their voters as a whole don't give a sh$t about anyone else but their political and financial power. I predict that McConnell will not pass one single bill for Biden these next four years other than the budget bills to fund the government, and even those will be contentious. He will not allow one single judge to get a hearing at any level, and Republican chair heads will not allow nearly any members of the cabinet to get a Senate hearing to even get confirmed. Biden is going to have "acting" cabinet members at nearly every position. These next four years are going to be brutal, and it will all be because McConnell, and the GOP... Pence included want the economics to be as terrible as possible so they can win in 24.
