Christian Wood (averaged 22 points in last 13 games for Detroit) Brandon Ingram Jordan Clarkson trade Russell Westbrook and James Harden and PJ Tucker( I doubt Giannis would consider coming to Houston) sign Austin Rivers and make him starting point guard keep Eric Gordon If Montrez Harrell still available, sign Montrez
NYK rumors of interest in Westbrook continues to get louder and more persistent. https://www.prosportsdaily.com/arti...round-picks-for-russell-westbrook-658806.html NYK: Russ Westbrook, Ben McLemore BOS: Myles Turner, Jeremy Lamb IND: Gordon Hayward, Markelle Fultz ORL: Victor Oladipo, RJ Barrett, Dennis Smith + Rockets FRP HOU: Aaron Gordon, Jonathan Isaac, Bobby Portis, Frank Ntilkina, Robert Williams + Knicks FRP 6'5 Beard/6'4 Ntilikina (22) 6'3 EGo/6'6 House (27) 6'7 RoCo (29)/6'5 Nwaba (27) 6'8 AG (25)/6'5 PJ/6'11 JIsaac (23) *season injury* 6'10 Portis (25)/6'8 Timelord (23) Still have MLE, still have EGo (and House) for trade deadline if needed.
Rockets in: Dragic (3yr/$24m) Pacers in: EG, Heat 1st Heat in: Oladipo Still keeps the MLE open and saves $6m. Then sign Noel on a vet minimum, Ibaka on the MLE.
Works for me, if Dragic is fit. I want to give Noel a chance, but I think he will cost more than the vet minimum.
SnT will hard cap Rockets per @BimaThug Makes no sense to hard cap the team for a back up PG. This trade can still be done but with different players and asset assignment. MIA: Victor Oladipo, Ben McLemore IND: Eric Gordon, Kelly Olynyk (opt in), Austin Rivers (opt in) + Rockets FRP + Heat FRP HOU: Myles Turner, Tyler Herro, Kendrick Nunn Russ/Nunn Harden/Nwaba Herro/House RoCo/PJ Turner
Whats Joe Harris market looking like? Can he be a target for us with the TPE? I'd be down with the horford/thybull for tuck/ego deal if we could also nab a shooter with the exception like Harris. Also, Millsap HAS to be in vet min age right? I'd love to have him on our bench as a backup 5 for cheap.
The Heat would be much smarter to retain Dragic, convince him to take less so they can arrange for Giannis SnT or FA acquisition. Dragic skills better complements Harden but Goran is already 34 and fragile. Plus he wants to stay in Miami anyway. Giannis, Jimmy Buckets, Dipo, Dragic and Bam would be a scary 5. With Iggy, Robinson, Silva, KZ and their 1st rounder coming off the bench.
Makes no difference if we have a hard cap cuz Tillman is unwilling to spend. He should actually do a sign and trade so we get hard capped so I don't have to listen to him lie to my face about spending money only to dump first rounders for luxury tax savings. At least with a hard cap he will have an excuse for not spending.
Hard capping team before trade deadline is such an un-Moreylike thing to do. So with Morey gone, maybe they do go in that direction. Stone needs to make a splash so he is not constantly being compared to Morey. Maybe this is it.

Priority is 5 spot. FA with most potential is Harry Giles Jr. He has star potential. The safe FA center is Nerlens Noel or Aron Baynes. These guys are reliable.
Silas confirming that priority is finding a 5. I hope they utilize both trade and FA, 1 player is not enough IMO. Need both a stretch 5 and a traditional 5.
*EDIT Silas confirming that priority is finding a 5. I hope they utilize both trade and FA, 1 player is not enough IMO. Solution: Get both a stretch 5 AND a traditional 5. "Teams often tried to make Clint Capela the decision-maker by trapping James Harden, so much that the Rockets almost stopped running Harden-Capela pick and rolls, sticking Capela in the dunker spot." 6'10 Harry Giles (22) is a traditional roll 5 but thrives as a decision maker and creator, moreso than even 6'8 Jeff Green (33). "Stretch 5 possible options are free agents Aron Baynes, Paul Millsap, Bobby Portis, Dario Saric, JaMychal Green, Meyers Leonard and Chris Boucher, along with cheap trade targets like Mo Bamba and Luke Kornet. Even if it’s mainly for the Harden minutes, I imagine that getting a serviceable big man is Houston’s biggest priority at the moment." 7'0 Mo Bamba with 7'10 wingspan is my preference - can play both stretch 5 and traditional lob/roll threat. https://clutchcitycontrolroom.com/2020/09/28/houston-rockets-off-season-primer-small-ball/
