So the gameplan is just to bully state officials so they'll do what exactly??

That's the question that needs to be asked to every Trump supporter. We know that Trump and the Republicans are making noise, and raising a fuss. Let's say hypothetically Republicans state officials in PA, MI, WI, AZ, and GA succumb to the bullying.... WHAT EXACTLY DO YOU WANT THEM TO DO??

    -Refuse to certify EC votes?
    -Recount?
    -change votes?
-Throw out enough Dem votes to claim Trump as the winner?
-Write a letter of apology & do nothing?
-Re-Do the election, and everyone votes again in two weeks?

What the F do you guys want? Because no results here does anything besides overthrowing Democracy. Any type of actual result of the bullying would be the end of Democracy. Do you idiots realize that this is what you want even though you are just cheerleading bullying tactics or am I missing some other type of end result vindication other than every other perceived end result that can be imagined?

They are big on terrorist attacks like trying to attack innocent people counting votes and kidnap Governors though.

Thankfully, they are usually too dumb to have any success with them but the effort is certainly there.

I'm not saying we should humor him. I'm saying it's not worth fighting over. Mitch McConnell doesn't care, he is going to do whatever is in his best interests. At the end of the day, Trump is going to be out of office in a couple of months. He can say he was cheated and some people will believe him. We can't change that, but we can worry about other things that we can control.

Expect an unprecedented amount of under the table bribe and quid pro quo attempts by the Trump campaign in the next month or so. It seems like ripe grounds for future investigations.

The same people denying the results are the same people in 2008 who called Obama "not my president"

    Gee. Wonder why.

I and others have been saying this for a long time.

A chunk of this country at this point want's a dictator. Most of them are super socially conservative and they know they've lost that war. So the only way to get 'order' back in this country is with a strongman that will force it.

So yes, that's what some of them want.

Why preserving something that is outdated?

It is not a tradition you want for another 50 years, it is neither Thanksgiving nor Christmas.

Trump says everything and nothing on the record. Off the record, he everything he says he has to deny.

He's really batting 1.000, almost broke Kim Jung ill's record.

As for accomplishments, evangelicals love his scrote appointments. The only people he locked up were little kids South of the border, but that's enough to teach mean ol Hillary!!

youve brought this up before and ive asked you to clarify. what part are we at now and what are the dominoes? your post is seemingly the most important post in this thread.

my thing to you is how hard is it get them to do this? which states?
seems like a tall task with no evidence?
i know you mentioned the time in 1800s but i cant remember how or what are the levers and catalysts .

    thanks if you can

...I get you both here, @Chilly_Pete and @NewRoxFan...

...but this is what "process" is for.

...of course, the Donald and his crack(head) team of dimwits and dunderheads are going to caterwaul in every court who decides to take the five minutes or so to hear whatever their petition is before throwing it out...

...(hopefully out onto the same parking lot/sex cabana that his campaign staff managed to secure)...

...we're talking about organized crime tactics here...in spite of how dumb and stupid Team Donald is going to make it all look...

...what we need is to develop the spine to stop all this from BECOMING the pattern and habit and "norm" you suggest, NewRoxFan...watch and see who does what, if this stupid ish gets in front of any district or federal court...

...let anybody so inclined to undermine any of this go ahead and try it...

...let's see if "our" republic is willing to straighten out these crooked pieces of ****, once they let everybody with a working nose know how bad they really smell...

Let's go ahead and finally "drain the swamp", there, Donnie-boy.

...we can start by pulling the plug on your goofy ass....;)

Well grow some balls and admit it. The pu$$yfooting around it is very weak from an autocratic fascist cult. Be a Dick(tator) and be a proud Dick(tator).

Generally because major changes never happen and instead comes incrementally. Enough Americans like the voting system the way it is because it favors their party at this point in time and are adverse to change because of it. This keeps the EC but makes it a least more representative of the popular vote without having to make major changes.

You just count the votes in each state and figure out what % of votes are for each candidate and then distribute EC votes based on that %. It's basic math even your most uneducated opponents would understand.

52% of support for Trump in 50 electoral college Texas? 50 * .52 = 26 EC. I could explain that to someone who might be initially against it compared to say Ranked-Choice Voting. This seems more doable to me unlike other models that want to completely eliminate the EC. Good luck getting that passed. This is at least a compromise.

The midwest and some rural counties got the most uneducated.

Republicans got the most access to them while the Democrats would rule the Popular Vote for several years.

I am not an expert on this but every change no matter how small would be met with doubt for a while.

I agree it is most important. It's really the only way I see to legitimize overturning an election under the constitution other than impeachment after the fact. I honestly don't know the makeup of the state electors. The main issue to look at is:

-Who controls the state house of each of these states who can change the rules of the state house that require the state electors to vote along with the popular vote of their state. I honestly don't know how many of these states have Republican controlled State Houses, but that's step 1.
(also note that SCOTUS ruled a few months ago that State electors had to vote in line with the popular vote IF it's the rule set by the House. However the House can just change the rule).

-Then enough Republican states need to refuse to certify to make it to where Biden CANNOT get 270 electors, and NEIGHTER can Trump. That's key. They can make Trump president if they want. It would only be where neither candidate gets to 270. So that's why the states Secretary of State saying "we cannot certify because we cannot move forward for whatever reason by Jan 20th" is important.

-Then after December 15th, there is probably going to be chaos that goes right to Nancy Pelosi's plate to hold a vote in the House which she will refuse to hold until she has to (I believe that's where the Supreme Court would come in to order her)

-If Pelosi can hold off someway then I believe Mike Pence becomes interim President on January 21st.

-Then Pence can nominate Trump as his Vice President, and then resign, and make Trump president again.

Sound like a Cluster F???... Because it is, but it's in the Constitution, and been used before.
