Half of the US watched Trump do this for longer leading up to the November election and didn't care.

It is different when he is the elected President and different when he is a LOSER who refuses to take his dirty little hands off power.

I read that they are planning to turn the electors in spite of the voting result.
If this is true then I can not fathom that the american people will just watch and not care.

That's my point. Blaming Pelosi for not getting a stimulus past before the election isn't exactly correct. Her hands were tied by the Senate.

I don’t remember the exact amount, but it was ~0.5T. They tried but even that low amount couldn’t pass the Senate. I’m not sure why people think that anything could pass the Senate after that.

Given the election, maybe American just don’t care much about a 2nd covid bill. It might be dead already after this election and with yesterday announcement of a 90% effective vaccine.

For the GA senate race, I would pivot to a message of getting things done over the next 2 years. A GOP majority senate will simply blocking everything. Stalemate. Give the slim majority to Biden so he can get things done. 2 years and if he go too extreme during that time, you can vote for a gop majority in 2022.

The only issue will be trust. Do you trust R's going forward more or D's more going forward.

I personally think the corner has been turned and the more ridiculous and obstructive the GOP looks in the next 70 days the more support the D's get.
Also, Trump lost. How much party enthusiasm will the R's have in GA? Will conservatives even bother to go vote again? There will be huge enthusiasm for D's because Biden won, we are looking for action not obstruction, and all the R's look feckless on Covid and Trump bootlicking.

There are a couple of wrinkles to add to this:

    1) McConnell made no good faith effort to negotiate with the House, the White House/Mnuchin or even his own party in the Senate. His attempt to pass a competing bill went down in flames due to the intransigence within his own party.

    2) McConnell also insisted that the House book include blanket immunity for all businesses against lawsuits for COVID-unsafe work environments.

    Again - McConnell passed nothing.

    N O T H I N G

Rather than respect the normal, Constitutionally-directed process by passing his own version of a stimulus package and then negotiating a final bill in committee, McConnell left negotiations entirely up to the House and the White House. He stood on the sidelines and acted like a spoiled teenager who b****es about the meal fixed by the parents instead of helping out himself. Rather than seeking a path to compromise, he treated the entire Democratic proposal as a non-starter.

McConnell’s inaction was not the result of standing up to Pelosi - rather, it’s the textbook definition of acting in bad faith.

It's a moot point because McConnell wasn't going to do anything before the election.

I think there's going to be a lot enthusiasm among Republicans. National Republicans who believe that the election was stolen from Trump will pour in resources to make sure the Senate stays in Republican hands. Given that it appears that Biden outperformed many Senate and House candidates including in GA shows that there are those who are fine with ticket splitting and may not have liked Trump but don't want to see Democrats control DC.

    This.

McConnell was very focused on getting Barrett confirmed but after that didn't really seem to care much about anything else this past month. I think he felt that getting another stimulus wasn't a winning issue for his caucus. In fact he seemed like he was expecting the Republicans to lose the Senate two weeks ago and might've figured if they were going to lose anyway no reason then to pass something that many in his caucus were reluctant about.

True. Dems are going to have to come out with strong messaging instead of tripping over themselves.

One upside to al the Trump tantrum is that it takes GOP attention away from the runoff.

Dems should simply not engage with the BS and focus their message for the target audience, hoping to increase turnout.

GOP and Kemp might try to limit mail-in voting to suppress Dem voting.

I honestly don't know what Georgia Democrats want or will come out to vote for

They're like unicorns discovered in an Amazon jungle undisturbed by prying eyes.
